I received my first phone call last night, it was great to hear my sons voice, said everything was going ok. He sounded tired, said he has had a sore throat for about a week and so have many others, but it hasn't stopped him yet. Says they have snow.

How did he say the division was doing?

nothing division specific except that they are starting to work as a team except for a couple people.  The team has to come together.  They will be much happier after that.

anyone that can participate today on Trivia Tuesday in facebook Training Command Site please lets try and win a picture of our division. It is held today at noon Chicago time.

I played trivia Tuesday today on facebook and didn't win.  In case everyone doesn't know about Tuesday trivia, it is hosted every Tuesday on Facebook. If you are the first person that answers with the correct answer the Recruit Training Command will take a picture of our division usually with the winners SR right up front in the middle and post it for us to see.  It is played at 11am -Phoenix time -noon Chicago time. If anyone has a chance next Tuesday lets all try and win a picture of our division.

tried and lost

I tried and lost too.

Got two letters today dated 12/12 and 12/18.Great news he said division 47 won the Academic Flag!!

Yea!  That is great.  Did he say if he got promoted to E-2?  I saw a few SR's had gotten promoted.

He didn't say anything about being promoted to E-2. My son signed up on September 30, 2011 and then shipped out on November 21, 2011. His recruiter said that usually they study and take a test with the recruiter and then at bootcamp and get promoted quicker. However he said my SR wouldn't have time to do that because they wouldn't have enough days to do what was needed.  Do you know if he will still have an opportunity to make E-2 in bootcamp?

My son just passed whatever requirements were necessary to advance to the next pay grade.  Not sure if that's the same as being "promoted" to E-2.

That is great news, sounds like they are doing great! Thanks for sharing, I  received a call Saturday night but no letter yet this week. Maybe today.
