Our boys have a birthday on the same week. I am going to mass tomorrow to celebrate his

birthday. I will honor them both by praying for them both.Mother Mary I know will watch over them

both. I'll never forget when I saw her on that Billboard in Clearwater on Drew St many years ago.Whenever

I am worried about my children or any child in particular. I remember that vision, I go to her and Pray for that child. After I go to church tomorrow I am going to see one of my friend's daughters, who is due to have her baby tomorrow and bring that baby a candle.

I got a letter and a call today, super excited.  He said he hasn't been able to call be cause the ones in (SIQ) sick in quarters had to wait until they were no longer sick.   He said they got to do PT with music this time and was much better.  They also got there dog tags. He has passed all his test so far.

I am hoping for a call tonight to let us know what is happening. I was informed that my son was retested and is color blind. Still amazed they didn't catch that sooner. But anyway, we are patiently waiting to see what he has decided to do...take another job or come home.

I have so much stuff already for Navy but I am not going to fib, I wish he would just come home and go in to another branch. Won't go into too much of the last year, but this is really getting to some of us. Prayers going all out for everyone and their families.

Be blessed and have a very Merry Christmas!! I may not be on here for a while, but will have you all close to my heart.

I finally recieved 2 letters from him.  What a relief!   Alive and well, but told be to "stop being such a girl! :)" .  I guess my letters have been rambling on too much about missing him.  But the most important thing was... for us to find and send him his friends address so he can write to him!

Should I feel jealous that he misses his friend more than his parents?  Or am I just being agirl? lol

This is the friend he took the ASVAB with and went to MEPS with.  The friend went to RTC in May, and David had to wait.  So, yes, I can understand why he misses his friend.

Have a good day, ladies.  I know I'm feeling better about the holidays. (even though I'm up getting ready for work when I should be on Christmas break.  School is out, so my boss from my 'summer' job called, "can you work this week?".  And this job starts 2 hours earlier than my school bus route.  oh well, this will at least cover our hotel bill next month!)

I bet you feel so much better that you've heard from him. I was wondering the same thing if he was going to write friends this week, so I'm not sure if I will hear from him by letter this week. Maybe next week.I called my mom today to see if maybe he mailed a letter to her because she means so much to him. He loves his grandma and they always had such a close bond. She said no.I really hope he is ok!!! He may not remember all the addresses because he mailed those back in the box but I mailed back those to him last week.Today is his 19th birthday and Christmas is in two days So I pray I hear from him. His recruiter told me he couldn "t have more than 50 $ with him but it scares me for him to not have money in case he needs it.Do you think it's ok if I put more money in his account?

I think that if it makes you feel better hopeful then you could put money in his account, but I'm sure he will not need it. There really isn't anything he needs to buy. However, all of our SR's will be taking their photos on week 4, which starts today. They will need to order them soon after and will need a blank check from home to do so. We cannot order the pictures for them, they will have to do that themselves before PIR. They might be able to use their debit/credit card if they have one with them, but I'm not sure. I mailed my husband a blank check last week. You might discuss this with your SR's through your next letter! More information about the pictures is on the PIR 1/27/12 page in a document. They will also have the opportunity to order the "year book" and a copy of their graduation video. They must order these things before the graduation because only the amount ordered will be produced. As far as I understand, just after the graduation ceremony they will be able to go to their barracks and get the pictures and "year book" so that you can have them on graduation day. The video you will receive by mail later. I hope that this is helpful. I don't remember what the pictures cost (that info is include in the mentioned document).

Have a good day ladies!

tonya where is that document page you were talking about to see the info on the pictures? what is the pir 1/27/12 page     thanks

Thank you for the info. I really appreciate that. I will definetly put some money in his account since he probably needs it for pictures but I wish there was a way to notify him so he doesn't miss out on

getting the pictures.I think I will mail him a letter despite the fact I allready sent so many. I know I overdid

it and I hope I haven't embarrassed him with too many letters from mom.He is such a good boy that by writing him I felt connected to him. Maybe I will write a paragraph a day and send 1 letter  a week.. Hope every body has a Merry Christmas!!

Happy Christmas Eve to you all...just finished wrapping gifts and am finally settling down for the day.  Received a letter from my son Brian which was dated Dec. 18th.  He sounded homesick which made me feel badly.  I'm missing him but am trying to keep busy and to be strong for him.  Brian had been appointed as the RPOC but turned it down because the extra duties and responsibilities left no time for studying and he just couldn't do it all as well as he wanted to.  I am proud that he was mature enough to make that decision.  He asked that we send him money in $5 bills (??) and was glad that they were able to listen to music during PT and even earned a couple of TV hours recently.  Our local newspaper ran a story today on military families and how they keep in touch during the holidays (or NOT in our instance) I was interviewed for the story and they included a photo of me holding my son's photograph and wearing my "Navy Mom" pin.  I sent a copy of the article to Brian, won't he be surprised to see it!  Only a few more weeks until their PIR, I can't wait!  Is anyone attending the mixers the night before?  I'm not really interested in the one at the bar but there is one at the Mariott I believe...would be nice to meet up with you all!  Is anyone else's SR traveling to Pensacola for A-School?

~ Lisa Trabucco

My son is going to A-school in Pensacola.

Merry Christmas Ladies!!!

Not a white one in our part of the country, but thats ok.

Lisa from NY, I think there are a couple going to Fla for A-School.  What I want to know, is anyone's SR going to Mississippi?  I haven't heard of anyone else going there.  I'm hoping my son will meet someone going to Meridian.

I am praying for a phone call today.  You should have seen me jump out of bed last night when my phone rang.  But, alas, it was my sister in California.  We don't talk often, but when we do it's for several hours!  Oh well, who needs sleep anyway, right?

Talk about SMALL worlds...my great-aunt lives in Mountain Home!
