I just got a call from a fellow SR in my son's division. I almost had a heart attack when I saw 847. I prayed that it wasn't the (I got delayed) call. He said that my son asked him to call and tell me that he loves me. :) I asked him if Hell Week was terrible? He said it wasn't too bad and that they both passed the 2nd academic test. He scored better so he got phone time today. He said mine would call me on Friday. Good news. :) He said that my Sonshine is his boss. Wow!! I am one proud Momma bear. :) He also said not to come for Christmas if the weather is bad but that they haven't had much in the way of precip yet. Hopefully mother nature behaves so that there won't be any problems.
I have been reading Greyhound reviews and I must say that it looks like I am in for quite an experience. lol What we won't do for our children huh?? I am still excited to see him, even if I have a less than spectacular experience. You can't beat the price with such short notice. At least I will have a story to tell when I get home.

OMG THAT IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO AWESOME...

Way cool news proudmom!
My SR's letter from 12/15 said he was hoping for a ribbon & a call. We shall see. I'm just happy knowing Christmas is in 3 days & he should b able to call then!

I got mail today... letter dated Sunday 18th. SR's feeling frustrated again with the division. Said that they pretty much failed the line handling lab. Also said he didn't fill out the questionnaire that I sent him (this was the humorous one that someone posted earlier on. Started with name rank and serial number) Said that by the time the information got to me, it would be all wrong anyway. Poor thing, he must be sleep deprived cause he would have gotten a laugh out of it normally.

Also writes that sometimes it feels like graduation will never get here. I'm hoping the rest of the week went OK, and he starts feeling more optimistic. He's not usually down, the lack of sleep must be getting to him.

did you get a call on friday from your SR??

I didn't, disappointed . His dad got the call yesterday. So he talked with his brother also. It's Ok, they weren't able to talk the last call and I got to talk with him then. I asked my son a whole lot of questions about hell week, he said they only talked about sports and friends. Oh, and that he got a sniper with his shooting. That was all he knew.

I have a million questions but guess they'll have to wait till PIR, :>)

I usually get a letter today, but to my total disappointment not today. Hoping tomorrow will be my day. Hopefully my SR is in better spirits than last letter.

No letter for me either. Maybe tomorrow. He hasn't had much negative to say so I'm happy for that.

Good luck to you all going to RTC for Christmas!!!

My son called Friday. He talked with my other son and me for about fifteen minutes and then got another fifteen minutes with my wife, at work. He sounded great, other than being a bit congested. The division has passed drill, and they actually marched themselves to the phone center. Things are progressing.

Yay thats awesome.... my sr is still congested... and may have a stress fracture.. 7 flags... things ARE progressing woohoo

I should mention that many of our SR's are going to be adopted by two local groups later today. They should be bused somewhere for a Christmas meal. With any luck at all, some of us will get phone calls, too. Let's hope...

Merry Christmas everyone.

Woohoo! We just had a nice, long phone call with my son. Some of our SR's are indeed off base with the North Point Church. Check out some pictures on their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/northpointorg

Enjoy!

Edit: Obviously, their FB page contains pics and info from much more than just our division. Just find the pictures on their site that were posted today to narrow down your search. I hope you find your SR. There are a couple of mine clear as day.
