Hi ladies...I am still trying to figure out how to move around on this website...my son left December 13th....I received the call at 11:37 pm that night that he was there and ok....we got his box in like 1 1/2 (super fast) we received a letter the following Monday (quick i wasnt expecting it for another week) today is Christmas Eve and I am so hoping for a phone call but not expecting one....I just want to hear his voice. I am really looking for support here as I am trying to push through the days but it seems to get harder and harder and I know im closer to seeing him. His graduation dates is 2/10/12 and his Ship is 04 Div 806....anyone can add me as friend I would love to know if what I feeling is what everybody is feeling,,, he is 18 and never been from home this long and definitely never not talked to him for this long. We are very proud of him and cant wait to see him and see what a transition he will make. Hope to hear from some of you. Thanks for listening. Liz
Our son left home 12/13, left MEPS 12/14. We never did get a "I'm here, I'm OK phone call." Can only imagine that he couldn't figure out how to use the calling card, under pressure. We got THE BOX on Monday, and we received the form letter with a brief note yesterday... finally! I went out and bought my wife a nice little pad of stationery, and our first letter went out in this morning's mail. (Yes, I'm the hubby... I joined this group on behalf of my wife so I can keep her informed, and help her cope. This has been a rough week and a half in our household!)
I hope the letter and having an address helps her. Our sons are in this together and they will come out better (or at least more mature) people. I'm saying extra prayers for all the families missing loved ones this Christmas.
