Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

kgobble-Our SR sounds good too but in his last letter he said he'd been sick for a week. Don't see how you can put that many people together & not have them sick all the time! He just kept on going & eventually felt better but I worry about their health! Our SR said they might get a call on Saturday-sure hope so! Have a great day & weekend!

I know several of you have ordered ribbons from me to wear to PIR. All of those orders have now been shipped. Please let me know what you think of them when they arrive. I am sure you will love them :-D With the holidays here the shipping seems to be taking an extra day or two depending on how far you are from me but hopefully you will all have them by this Friday or Tuesday at the latest. The mail doesn't run on Monday so letters from your SR's will probably be delayed next week as well. If anyone else would like to order the ribbons to wear to PIR to support your Sailor just send me a friend request on this site or send me an email to uniquememorymakers@yahoo.com and I will send you all the ribbon info as well as some helpful tips for PIR. I hope you all have a great day.

Well just dropped 2 SRs at GL after a wonderful day of Christmas together. We took them to Wrigley field, drove down Lake Shore Drive, Down Michigan Ave and then to the Sears Tower skydeck followed by a brunch at one Chicago House and dinner at the other. One of the SRs is from California and complained about how cold it was but seriously it was in the 50's today and we have had one of the warmest Decembers in a century. We saw people is shorts jogging along LSD.
