outstanding... wow 2 babies in the Navy... I've tried to convince my SR's younger bro to do the same, not his thing i guess... MERRY CHRISTMAS
@Cathyrossi- It was such a pleasure to spend time with your SR today! He is so well behaved and so nice. I enjoyed being able to pick him up for Christmas. I am looking forward to meeting you in person at graduation. We should all go out to dinner or something. See you in January.
Christmas with my Sonshine was amazing! I am so glad I was able to go and pick them up. We went to a restaurant close to the base and had a nice long lunch/dinner. It was so funny because the boys decided to have a little of everything. Cheeseburger, pizza, chicken fingers, quesadillas, fries, and cheesecake. I was joking with them that they would have PT when they got back. lol It was too funny. His friend got to Skype and FaceTime his family and friends, he was very happy to see them all. My SR was able to talk to the whole family and they loved seeing his face.
When I got to base we drove around the perimeter to get to the parking area and I was able to see a lot of the base. I saw several different divisions marching to the building where we were picking them up, they looked to formal. They were all dressed the same and looked very polished. I rolled down my window and could hear the cadence being sung. It was awesome!! There were so many families waiting for their SR's it was almost overwhelming. They called them out in small groups of 5 and when we saw our SR we could go get them and take them out. When mine came out I ran to him and wrapped my arms around his neck so hard, he just picked me up and walked ME out. I couldn't and didn't want to let go. I was so frazzled that I forgot where I parked the stupid rental car. We went to the NEX and he bought me a bunch of "Navy Mom" items. Now I can sport it all over town. LOL :) He looked to amazing in his uniform, very official and just commanded respect. Obviously the hardest part was dropping him back off, I knew I couldn't take him back home but it was so much harder than I thought to let him go again. :( 16 days and counting though, and I will see him again.
We talked about so much, he talked about the RDC's and a lot of his fellow SR's, they have grown so close to each other, I am so happy for that. They told me about some of their "punishments" and achievements. Ask your SR's about the "Curtains" too funny!! lol They are having a memorable time for sure.
I got a call today from him, he wanted to make sure that I got home safely and to tell me he was so happy to have spent time with me. He said he got the best Christmas present ever. :) He makes me cry, and smile all at the same time. He is excited for PIR and to see me again, even if it is only for a little while, he ships off to A school on the 14th, and then we won't see each other again until I go out there during his liberty. Sad, but I am so proud of him! At least when he's in school he can call me and we can talk a lot more often.
See you all very soon!
