For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Looking to connect with anyone else who has a loved one on the same ship as my son. I got a call from him today - I WAS SO HAPPY TO HEAR FROM HIM. He needed information for his security clearance stuff so it was a quick conversation but I don't care. It was just nice to hear his voice. He sounded very tired but upbeat if that makes sense.

I have been researching hotels & flights....to the point if driving my husband crazy! Trying to find the best place. We have 8 in the family that would like to be there for graduation but we are concerned about everyone getting in. I want to fly on Wednesday for fear of snow delay!! Once again...driving my husband crazy! I was lucky and got to speak to out son yesterday for just a bit. He said they got to write letters Sunday and has received our letters. He said everyone in their division gets along great. They had prime rib for Christmas, which was a nice change. I am so looking forward to getting that letter! If I hear any news I will be sure to post.

If my son does graduate(not saying he won't) with his group we may have extra tickets available for 2-10-12. Yes, I have a son in 07/064 as well. Haven't heard from him but expect to by next week according to the original plan. There are alot of pictures of christmas of the recruits but did not see my son, if any of you see your son or daughter from 07/064 let me know what picture and I will relook for my son in that picture. My mom had her 80th birthday party right after my son left for the Navy so he missed a big family gathering from several states. Oh well. He is on a career path I am proud of so sacrifices have to be made.
I am not sure where we are staying yet and am waiting until January as we will probably have nonrefundable tickets and want to make sure there is no delay in his gradation to the best of our ability. Good to hear from you all! It is nice to know there are other mothers out there from the same ship/division!

Where can I look for pictures? I would be overjoyed to see a glimps of my daughter, I have not made plans to fly yet because I am told to wait until the 4th or 5th week by all my military friends including retired husband. I am so looking for a letter and praying all is well.

Haven't received any "real" letters yet. Proudmama there were pictures of different divisions posted on the facebook website for the Recruit Training Command the link to it is https://www.facebook.com/#!/NavyRecruitTrainingCommand
We have a suite at the Holiday Inn Express but I am still looking around in case I find something better - but it is pretty close, has a breakfast and a pool ( i have an 11 year old) and a shuttle to the center if we want it. We are driving so I do not have to worry about flights - but the weather is an issue also so we are leaving Wednesday since it is a 10 hour drive. I cannot wait. If anyone gets any letters please post any news from their Division you have to share.

Thanks Memphis mom and ladies. Nice to know that I am not the only one waiting to hear from their SR. I checked the pics and did not see her division 7-064 I have to study them more just in case. I work FT, Sch, FT w/ four under 8 at home and still find time to worry! A letter would go a long way!

Got my letter today!
it was three pages long! I think he had time to write cause he was one of those who had their wisdom teeth pulled (ugh!) and so had a little sick time to write in. It looks to be about 90 in a division and two divisions work together. Some of the teamwork penalties that my son talked of is that everyone has to run back to their barracks if one person needs a hat or something, also if anyone gets sweats they all get yelled at. He says the food is good and that means alot because my son is a very picky eater. He also names alot of his friends which I can't repeat but he thinks the divison has a munch of good people in it.

I got my first real letter today! I AM SO EXCITED! I had also printed out that boot camp questionnaire from this website and he filled it out completely!! That was awesome - I learned who is better friends were - about the bad and the good, the funny and the not so funny things going on but overall he is sounding good!

We received real letters too! So comforting for sure...was glad there was humor in parts as well. They didn't get to leave for Christmas so there were no pics. We are playing Tuesday Trivia on the training commands Facebook to try and win us a picture! My sister-in-law was in the top 5 this week! Our SR stressed to ask everyone to write him....lots! He 'thinks' he will have to fly out Saturday after grad for school but I think I am going to book flight til Sunday just in case! Southwest has a sale on flights thru Jan. 2 so I am gonna risk it and go ahead and purchase them. Can't wait to hear about other happy moms getting letters!

memphis.mom - I'm sorry...I had to delete your post. Sailors last names are not alllowed on the N4M's website as per the Community Guidelines. You can send a message to the group to ask... or friend those within your division and ask. The "Send Message to Group" link is just above the Members pictures of the PIR group on the main page of the PIR group...second column from the right.
