I just made a reservation at Navy lodge also.. I made it for Thursday til Sunday...do you think that's the right amount of time? How long should we stay? Will we be able to see our son that long? or longer?
mamabear is that a picture of your son who is in BC now? If it is, you need to change it so the instructors cant associate the two of you. They will embarrass him in front of every one by reading your posts. Believe me, my son was one of them who got singled out because of my profile picture. Its funny now, but wasnt then. I am sure he was so mad at me.
I have a question about the "Navy Lodge"...isn't it just for members of the Navy? Do you have to be in the Navy to stay there?
Families can stay there too. Your son will have to go there with you after PIR and show his ID, but thats about it.
Thanks sjtina for the heads up about changing my picture, I read about it being "okay", but I understand it's best not to have his picture up, even if normally he likes a good tease now and then, not what I want to have him deal with under this new kind of stress!
Hi dellene,
My son is in that ship/div. Is your son Air Rescue or SWCC?
Hi dellene, my son is ship 4, PIR 2/10/2012, but 805! Close enough as far as I can tell! It would be nice if they actually knew each other...
Okay, trying to make the BEST of this. Phone GLUED to hip and getting plenty of exercise walking to and from the mailbox. LOL.
This division should be getting phone calls soon. They will probably all be the same day. I think I got mine around 1 in the afternoon easten time. I was at work and dropped eveything I was doing. lol
I pray we do receive a call soon. I work night shift and I return to work tonight. Difficult to sleep longing for snail mail communication and/or phone call from him. Plus, I think I could forcast the weather according to my work schedule. Today we have gorgeous blue skies and I will be spending a good part of the day resting up for my 12hr shift. I was off for 5 days and only one day was pretty.....I need SUNSHINE....lol. Hoping he did receive our letters filled with encouragement before Christmas. So today, I have my phone ON RING.....in my bed as I sleep. I will be happy to take a call from our son.
3 letters.......yipee. Glad to hear from him.
I hope everyone else is getting letters too.
