Received my form letter yesterday (Dec. 17).  He says everything is going well and he already see the changes in himself.  So proud but sure do miss him!

Anyone else?

haha ok! is it ok if i private chat you??

sure thing

Just booked our travel arrangements for PIR. I am way too excited. Can't wait. I am flying Southwest into Midway. SW has " No change fees " (just in case you need to change your flight) I am looking forward to meeting you ladies at PIR. In the mean time, hang tight! Any phone call yet? My son also said day 3/5, but I am not sure what day that is exactly, I has to be either Thursday or Friday. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Still no call yet, but I am hoping! :) I need to tell him to resend the graduation invites! :( Still haven't received them but I did inform his dad to go ahead and book us Thurs-Sunday.. Just in case. :) Excited to see everyone, myself!

Are you going to the meet-n-greets? Not sure if I will go to both, might just do sarge's, will see.

Does anyone know what hotels are near the RTC?  We don't want to rent a car b/c we are not used to driving in the ice and snow. I feel sure that will probably be the case Feb. 10.  Hoping to find something with a shuttle service or a taxi. Also will be needing a wheel chair for my mom. She is old and feeble and can't afford a fall. Any one have any ideas?

I just got another letter today ( well, 3 separate letters really...mailed together). He tells me they were only on Day 4 (as of the 21st)...which puts them on Week 2 Day 6??? i think as of today...if i did that right. He also said to expect a call this Sunday!! He said Christmas dinner was good...they got prime rib, turkey, ham, and pie for dessert & they gave them an extra hour of holiday routine to write letters, polish boots, & shower longer. Yesterday was supposed to be their first exam...they already had one quiz. He was also excited about the cool backpack & jackets they all got, haha.

Hi Dink,

I also got a letter yesturday same ship and div, yours was more informative! His also had three letter in one for mom, dad and sister.  He did say that as of Dec 23 was the start of 2-1 which works out to date of graduation.

AVfamily

oh ok..yep, that sounds right

I got a letter today from my son.  He said he had his wisdom teeth cut out on the 21st and passed his swim test and that he was really missing home.

lol, wow you guys got alot more info than I did, mine asked me not to write in cursive anymore, making good friends and that everyone helps each other out.

he also said he was getting along good with everyone...and that there is a guy with very similar sounding last name that everyone keeps getting the 2 confused haha

DarcieR - I'm sorry I had to remove your post...last names of Sailors are not allowed anywhere on the N4M's site as per the Community Guidelines and OPSEC.
You can use the private messaging system to try and connect up further that way. They have to be your friend on here in order for you to send a message. Or you can send a message to the whole group by using the "Send Message to Group " feature which is above the members pictures on the main page of tis PIR group. If you send that way it will go to everyone's personal email thaylt they have registered with N4M's rather than the private messaging system.
