Anyone out their in my daughter's division? Ship 11, Division 066? Would love to meet you!

I got another one from my SR...sorry. Looks like your prayers have been answered. My SR writes that 066 is "getting their act together and acting like a team! YAY! She said Christmas was bittersweet, but considering the circumstances she really enjoyed Christmas on the base. They did a 1940s WWII Christmas theme and everyone was in good spirits--the food was great and the day more relaxed. I don't want to spoil your letters. So if this is too much info you need to let me know. I feel bad that even mentioned the first letter, but I would want any news that anyone had. So you ladies tell me if you'd rather me just keep it to myself. I won't be offended.
They did a theme? How cool is that?!
Don't you dare not tell us about your letters! I feel like I'm hearing from my recruit when you tell us what yours is saying! And your daughter's letters may have a few more details than my boy will send me. There's a good possibility that my letter will just say "doing fine, don't worry, food is good, love you, don't forget to bring me some boxer shorts in February" .
I'm glad they got do something a little special on Christmas!
I for one, am glad to hear anything. I am positive I will get a letter today!!! For me Some News Is Good News
Thank you for sharing your letters. My daughter already told me that if her time came down to writing a letter or taking a shower... the shower will win. She is another who would never tell me all of the little things either so I love hearing about what your daughter said.
We got a letter! Dated December 24th - He says, " My RDCs are pretty cool. Between yelling they let us know that they're real people. Before we got in our racks tonight, they played Christmas music for 30 minutes. It was literally 100 guys holding back tears in here while it played...."
He also says that they aren't allowed to really talk, but he's made some friends, and his job is cleaning the latrines. He thinks that's funny because one of his chores here was cleaning the bathrooms. He says they must have known he was experienced.
I am laughing and crying at the same time as I read it. Can't wait to hear about everyone else's letters!
Nothing today :(
I'm happy for you guys; If I find out she wrote her boyfriend 1st. We're going to have a big problem!!!!
Can you tell I'm grasping for straws.
Hang in there. We're here for support. If you want, we can band together, write your daughter and tell her that her mom "is on the edge." Nothing like some harrassment from outside folks she doesn't know to prompt some action. --Don't mess with mamas!
I'm giving her, one more day!!! I'm Ok One more day, has any of the SR's mentioned that they recvieved mail???
I was wondering the same thing! But Yes, My SR said, "Thank you for writing me so much". So they are getting mail. But I think their first mail call wasn't until 7-10 days after they got there. I think initial mail was being held for a bit because my SR said she recv'd 9 letters her first day of mail call.
What part of the country are you in again hermomi? Are you in a more remote area? Rural? Small town? Also has there been bad weather along the way that might impede service? Even cross country? That may have something to do with your letter being delayed. In any case, it will be a sweet moment when you finally hear from her. Don't give up hope. And of course, give her lots of flack when you write her next :). Please let us know when your letter finally arrives!
Awww...that is so sweet! You must have taught him well! Good job Navy Mom!
Got two letters! Thank you Heavenly Father! And thank you all for your support! He says he's doing great! Said his first week was really rough, thought about quitting! Says he is the boss of a group that has to clean the latrines! LoL! Hope! they don't pick them for experience! i tried making him clean his bath and he got bleach stains on all the rugs and towels! I was just telling my husband this a.m.. If we could just get a call! He won't write but if we could just get a call! Yes, they wrote on Christmas Eve, then a follow up shorter letter on Christmas Day! He really admires his RDC's too! There's hope Ladies! Not one word about any problems! Love You Guys! Hang in there hermomi! and lorimc!
