Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

January + Adoption........It is going to be big !!!!!!!
MOTTO: “GUNG HO” was the Battle Cry of the Second Raider Battalion and the Motto of USS MAKIN ISLAND (CVE 93). “Gung Ho” translated means “Work Together”.
Being a Fast Attack momma I really knew nothing about the Makin Island, but doing a little research I found that their motto :GUNG HO” meant work together, I thought that since we as Molly moms would fail if we did not “Gung Ho” it would be a great battle cry for us.
So let’s GUNG HO into the NEW YEAR together. Since the size of the group is extra large, we will not be shipping till the middle of Feb. Since the timing will not be making any special holiday I thought that we could just make it a "All Things New" packing Whether it is a new snack or new game or something new to learn.
This is the wish list that was provided to me..... BE AWARE there might be a little special request coming soon....
They stay pretty strict with regulations so there will be no pillow cases shipped with this adoption....
Any other Ideas, PLEASE bring them on........I'm still waiting on a head count of men women marines

Also they are in need of Children's books that they can use for the United in Reading program. This is where the parents read a book while being recorded and then send the DVD and book to the child....what a get way to be a parent while away.

Okay, Molly has the jerky covered and trust me, I have the coffee covered. We received a donation a while ago of "coffee sticks". Each stick makes 1 cup of coffee. Well, I have 5 cases containing 2500 (yes, I said 2500) in each case!!

the 99 Cents Only stores, Dollar Tree, etc. are a great place to watch for the drink mix packets. but you have to keep going back to check because their stock changes a lot. The propells were quite a find and I bought all they had, but I know it's not a huge amount. I've also been collecting chap sticks (or similar brands) when I can find them for $1 or less per item.
Another thing I LOVE to put into the bags, because they lay flat, are fruit leather that I get either from Costco or Amazon.com. they are Stretch Island Fruit co. 48 in a box for around $10 at Costco. A little more at Amazon.

I am lucky because my sailor is home right now, came home 22nd and leaves Wednesday. He is stationed up at Whidbey Island.
He is getting plenty of care and attention for sure, and he loves that others get looked after too {:oD
My Husband did 20 years too, so following on. This is not my first trip around the block lol.
Is the head count 1900 for sure then???

Ok sorry guys I really wanted to try and keep up, but still under that weather so need ed a little nap. I love the goodies bag idea. How about brown paper bags and sealed with a MAS label? Then you can decorate the bags if you please. I have not received the correct hear count yet.I promise to post As soon as I received it........
