red sounds good to me Mindy4boys-lookin forward to meeting everyone-do any of you have sons heading to Pensicola after bootcamp and do you know if they will have days off before they have to report?
We are planning to go. That would be so great to meet you ladies. Look forward to it.
Hi GoatLady
We also have a son in this division-have received a letter but still no call (other than first day)-we are also from Ohio-can't imagine how my son is doing with no sleep-been a rough holiday without him-his letter sounded somewhat positive-but he was excited to go-he is 23 and been training for 1 1/2 yrs so really ready-like the idea about wearing scarves (next page) to graduation-and am gettin excited about seeing him again!
Hi Austinmom!
Where in Ohio are you from? We live outside of Cincinnati. Your son sounds like mine. He had been training so hard getting ready for this. He wasn't supposed to go until February but they had an opening in December, so everything was very rush-rush. No calls, here either. I can't wait to see him either - miss him terribly. Love the idea of the scarves, too! Hope to see you in February!
we live near Steubenville, Ohio, Wheeling WV, and Pittsburgh, PA-they call it the tri-state area-just wish he was a better writer cause not much info from letters-guess I should be happy he sounds upbeat and busy-more like determined-I have 6 kids -he is #2 but the oldest boy-strong guy with huge heart and great sense of self-really wants to be SEAL eventually but unsure about options at this point-we are all just gettin started-my brother served during 1st gulf war but really didn't get to know alot about stuff-there's so much to learn and this site helps immensely
Ok, let's do RED scarves for PIR for this division. If that's good with all. I just wanted to get our color picked to make it official. Is that all there is to it? Does anyone know, do we just pick a color and then all show up wearing that color? Do we need to let other divisions know?
Mindy,
I think we should just post our Division choice of color on the original discussion so the other divisions know we have chosen red.
I can do it if you'd like.
Also, Lala Ribbon Queen makes these really nice ribbons to wear on your lapel (not frilly, so guys could wear them, too). I ordered them for my crew to wear & I also got a window decal, because I didn't like the one my sailor brought home from the recruiter's office, lol. Here is her Facebook Site: Unique Memory Makers
Yes, please, would you do that for us? Thank you for all the info Paula!
I love red!! Yeah! Doesnt it feel good to be doing something productive and proactive!!
Good!! I look good in red :-)
:)
