For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Advice, Please!
I have gotten three phone calls from Brandon in two weeks, AND he graduates Friday! =D
I've never been more happy in my life to hear his voice. He seems like he s doing very well...well, he seemed like he was doing well, until today.
I got a call today, for which we talked for about a half hour. It was amazing, until towards the end. I asked him, "so are you excited for Friday?" He said, "eh, I suppose. I've already had my graduation." I laughed and asked him if he was excited to see me and his family. All he replied with was "yeah." I shrugged if off; he's been sick I guess and I knew he wasn't going to be like "OH MY GOD I MISS YOU GUYS." He's a dude in the Navy and he won't do that.
It got worse.
He said on Christmas a lot of girls flirted with him because they are all "dick-crazy". I totally knew this was coming and was not shocked or scared by it at all. I laughed and told him he was cute, and that I know he's not gonna do anything. He said, "I know, but in all honestly, sometimes I feel like by being in a relationship, I am missing out on the 'true sailor experience.' All my friends are talking about all the stuff they are going to do which I can't, and I guess I feel left out." I moved the conversation to something else.
Point is, I'm scared. He hung up after saying I love you, which I know he means. He wouldn't say it if he didn't mean it; he's one of those guys. He even talked about getting a long term phone plan with me early on in the conversation, and about a month ago told me he wants to spend the rest of his life with me. He's always been very honest with me and he's never lied or said something he didn't mean. I think that since this is his first time away from home and everything important, he is worn out. He said on the phone he's tired and just wants to be done with bootcamp; he even is saying he doesn't know what he is doing, he's worried about his job, and he wished he would have researched the Navy more before joining. He's just confused about everything important in life it seems, and I think that may be why he is confused about us.
Despite that, I've always been so sure of us being together and lasting through everything. But, after all this, I'm scared I'm going to lose him to this. Please give me advice.=[

Thanks for the reply! It's nice to know I'm not the only one who has heard this =) He just sounded a bit distant and sad; the poor guy wants to be done I think. Four days earlier he said "I love you baby" to me. I'm hoping once I talk to him, we both feel better. Two and a half years strong almost!<3

Guys always talk about what they are going to do, and a good portion of it is just talk. True sailor experience, my shiny ass. (I was a sailor). Boot camp is a pressure cooker, many ups and downs, so you're doing well to just stay calm for him.
And if a girl smiles at a guy in boot camp, he thinks she wants him. Sheesh.

'm staying as calm as I can. I'm just going to talk to him about it. I have faith in him and us =) I feel as though his so called friends, most of which he won't see again, are just getting to him a bit.
Thanks for the advice though; it's nice hearing from an actual sailor and girlfriends. -
