Hi Michy! Congrats to you son first of all! I know there are TONS of questions you and his wife probably have, and some that will never be answered :( I have to say the best advise I was ever given is to remember "No news is good news"! My son is in boot camp right now and it is something that has helped me to cope with not hearing from him! Where he sends his belonging will depend on him and who he addresses them to. He will gt a very brief call, maybe 30 seconds, uponhis arrival at bootcamp, and there is no guarantee of any further calls after that. We got lucky and got a call this morning from our son , only 5 minutes long, but so worth the wait! Others get longer calls and some get none at all. I would discuss with him and his wife now who he will call that first night so that you both are not expecting it. He will not be able to make 2 calls that night. And then just make sure he has both numbers for any future calls he may be allowed. You won't get his mailing address for about 2 weeks or so and at that time you will find out when he gradutaes. Once you have his address you can write to him every single day but he may only be allowed to write on Sunday's. It's a little tough going throughthis but staying positive and being supportive will help him as well as his wife get through it! Best of luck :)

He will call his wife with the "I'm here" call BUT tell him that he can take his cell phone to use along the way. Join this group to get info and to connect with other N4M's with Feb DEPers http://www.navyformoms.com/group/leavinforbootcampinfebruary
His personal belongings should be sent to whomever he addresses the box to, most likely his wife. He only needs to take a few things. You'll find out his grad date about 10 days - 2 weeks after he leaves in a form letter sent to his wife.
