Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Oh no ProudMom, this is devastating to hear this. Did this call come in on Saturday? I've been dreading since Friday every time my cell rings.
Also I think most are not posting on here because they are mainly doing the forums on FB. I know I saw you under Forum Ship 09/041. The is also a FB for all the divisions graduating this week. Someone just posted on there that they saw this and they asked for info for you. It is my understanding that if they don't pass again by Battlestations (and our is supposed to be Monday night) they don't graduate and do go straight to A school. Hopefully someone can verify this for you. But most importantly I'm praying for your SR that he does pass this run and he will graduate this upcoming Friday. Thoughts and prayers for your family..

Hope you got your phones working! Thanks for the facebook tip; I have a facebook account & went to Navy Recruit Training Command (RTC) Great Lakes, but I don't see where to post a question. I don't guess it really matters - we will get a call soon telling us one way or the other- it's just nerve-wracking wondering if we are going to be making the trip or not!

Thanks to all of you for your prayers. We got the call on Saturday at 12:25pm. He missed his run on Friday by 1 min & 30 sec. He's never been much of a runner - I wish a thousand times we had stressed this more BEFORE he left for boot camp! His recruiter just kept saying "don't worry about it, they'll work with you". I called his recruiter & I understand now that "working with you" means they will send him to a special division to work on the physical fitness test until he makes it & then to Battlestations with whomever goes next, then straight to A school (no graduation ceremony). I know the ceremony is not what it's all about, but it's certainly a let-down. It's in God's hands & He knows best.
