Lots of prayers going up for our SR's everyday.... Just 2 more weeks! Still worried about tomorrow, I know I am not the only one. God please be with our SR's.
Yes Navy Mom, I have a whole group of friends , family, and co workers praying for our SR's for tomorrow...
Well ladies, I have decided that everyone is going to pass tomorrow with flying colors and I'm putting that positive energy out there. My friend prayed for the group and she said only say positive things and don't even speak of all the "what ifs".
In regards to my son flying to A School on Sunday I don't think that is true. My son's order say that but when I called Great Lakes today to confirm this they told me they couldn't comment specifically on my son, but that everyone flies out on Saturday not Sunday. I told them his orders said Sunday. They said it can be confusing, but the orders may say Sunday, but that is not their itinerary it is their orders. So the orders can say they can't report before Sunday but then the itinerary says they fly out on Saturday. I don't know what to think. Does anyone have any experience with this to give me quidance??
My daughter's letter says she flies out Saturday. She didn't mention orders, but did mention flying out Saturday.
OH and they will ALL PASS AND DO GREAT!! Praise God!
I wish I knew if I get my son for Saturday, that would be so great. I guess I will just have to wait and see. Fortunately I don't fly out until Sunday so if he is available than we will get to see him.
Ladies, Have you been getting letters? How does you son/daughter sound?
I received a letter yesterday and two last week, my SR sounded really tired last week, they were having lots of extra PT.
My letter yesterday, the way it was worded made me think that my SR is not getting mail, and I write and mail everyday. That was heartbreaking to me because I want him to be encouraged and not discouraged. If they would let them call I could let him know we have been writing. He was more upbeat than last week though.
2 weeks from today they will have graduated and that will be wonderful!
Donna, My letter also indicated about a day where they were having alot of IT. However, he seemed to be taking it in stride like it was part of bootcamp. I don't know because I never have been to bootcamp myself but I would imagine that it is standard to have to do extra IT for just about anything because they use that as a oportunity to help them pull together as a team. Mine did indicate that he was getting alot of our mail. Perhaps it was a fluke on yours and then the next day he got a big bundle and it lifted his day.
My daughter's letter said they got ANOTHER PB Shot because so many have strep! I think she was not impressed. She did say they have done intensive IT as well.
My son said he also had to get another pb shot. He said for some reason it didn't hurt as bad as before. He said he has had 22 shots in bootcamp.(ouch)
What does PB stand for? I have always heard of the Navy Crud that most all of the recruits get and are sick most of the time while they are there. The germs just multiply!
PB=peanut butter shot
It's a gamma globulin to help boost the immune system. I can imagine how sick they'd all be if they didn't have one at all. She had the "crud" nasty cough and runny nose, Pink eye in both eyes, which was great because she had her picture taken with that! The funniest part is she sounds so happy in all her letters despite all of it.
