For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Looking to connect with anyone else who has a loved one on the same ship as my son. I got a call from him today - I WAS SO HAPPY TO HEAR FROM HIM. He needed information for his security clearance stuff so it was a quick conversation but I don't care. It was just nice to hear his voice. He sounded very tired but upbeat if that makes sense.

Welcome! It's good to know there are more of us out there. Have you received any letters from you SR since he/she left for boot camp?
Many of the moms/wives decided to wear a special scarf for PIR to show our support for Division 064. Did you hear about this?
Have you been managing OK since your SR left home? Lots of us are just getting over the "separation anxiety" and eagerly awaiting PIR. Letters and a phone call are the big help now.

I just emailed La La the Ribbon Queen to post a link for information on how to purchase the scarves.
I hope some of the new names I see on this site will take a moment to look at the pretty scarves and consider wearing them to PIR if they are attending!

Has anyone heard from our SR's ? I hate that we have yet another Monday holiday which means letters won't come until Thursday. Would love to know how everything is going and their recent accomplishments!

I got a call last Wednesday. They had their 2nd Physical Fitness test on Friday - so hoping they all passed that. I think only 10 or so are allowed to fail at this point. The holiday situation is not good for our recruits considering they have had Thanksgiving, Christmas and now MLK Jr. day. Hope you get a letter soon. My son did mention they get more time than just Sundays now for letter writing so the frequency may increase.

I agree with you bfive! I have been really feeling my son since last thursday but no letter or call. We and a bunch of our friends at church are praying for him though. I sure wish I knew what was going on. But I believe we have the follow what alot of wise mothers on this site tell us-no news is good news.

I stinks - but it's true - no news is good news. I got a call last Wednesday - things sound way more upbeat than they were at the beginning. Sounds like they are pulling together as a team and learning a lot.

I got a letter!! My son passed his physical tests - he was worried about the 1.5 mile because he has been sick but he passed it all with flying colors! He sounded so upbeat, says he loves boot camp now. Happy happy - cannot wait till PIR 3 weeks!

So happy for you Memphis mom! I take joy in your letter because if your SR is as upbeat as that, the division must be "percolating well" as they say! Saying a prayer I will get a letter today from my SR--only had one so far.
I am thinking they must have all passed the "bug" around and have used their free time to sleep and recharge their batteries.
Stay well and warm! 3 weeks . . . wow, it's going faster now!
