Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Purely a guess. We got his address from the recruiter, it was in that.
From what I've been reading, that address may only be temporary one.
It's a waiting game and I don't like it. I want to stomp my feet and throw a 2 year old's tantrum, but instead, I'm sneaking off to cry.

kimberly..the shower and the car are the best places to cry!!...It will get better. When you get the first call don't waste valuable talking time crying though. Watch for the 847 area code. They usually get to call about 3 weeks after they get there.

Are you sure the PIR date is March 2nd? I thought it would be later because of the processing days which don't count towards the 8 weeks. Let me know for sure, please, as my son arrived on the 11th. Thanks!

My son left Jan 9th! It was and is very difficult! I miss him so much! It's so hard not knowing how he's doing and all. I agree, getting the box of his stuff was very heartbreaking! Made me very sad:( I know he will be alright and this is best for him. He is 18 and going into the Nuclear Program. I am so proud of him and his decision. I am so anxious to receive a letter or something. I just wish I could hear from him! What job did yours join for?

no I haven't. I received his box of his stuff but that is it. Will that have his address and all in it?

He signed up for Hospital Corpsman. I am so very proud of him. This is a giant step towards his future. Not everyone has the guts to do it. Heck, I know plenty of parents who are struggling to get their kid to do something, anything.
My son graduated from high school this past June and had been talking to the recruiter since the beginning of his senior year. I was fine with his decision because it seemed so far away. Then as graduation started to get closer, I was sure they would have him leave soon there after but with choosing corpsman, it pushed his leave date to January.
I was thrilled because that meant I would get the holidays with him. I am so very glad I did. I could not imagine NOT having that.

the form letter is the letter you'll soon get with his grad date and info, address, ship/division, password for the gate pass if you plan to attend and a few lines from him
