My son reported he did alright...but that's what he says all the time so it doesn't mean much. haha.
Can anyone give details about the Thanksgiving program they have at Goose Creek where the chiefs' families adopt sailors who are not going home for Thanksgiving?

Sure hope someone can reply to your post. Our son will also be there and is not able to come home until Christmas.

Hi there.

My son is in Power School - class 1107-8. We are from Texas.

How are all your nukes doing?  I'm not hearing much from my son and I hope that means things are going well and he's just too busy to call :)

Chris, I don't hear much from mine either and when I do, all I get are "same old, same old."

So, who's going to gradution at the end of March?  I have planned on going but son keeps saying I shouldn't go --- save the money, he said, among other things.  I'm a bit bummed about it but I hope to seem him soon after...

Is anyone going to graduation on 3/30?

My daughter and I will be going.  We didn't get to go to A school because he went on his honeymoon right after.  This time his wife has to work and I really doubted that he would want to spend the money to come home by himself, especially since they were home for Christmas.  So we are going, and my daughter has spring break so we will be staying for 9 days.  I am really looking forward to better weather and spending some good, quality time with my son.  When they were home for Christmas it was SO busy and they had their wedding reception too, so not a lot of time together.

We are planning to go. Got our invitation in the mail a few days ago, and still trying to determine about flying or driving up from Texas. Not knowing when he gets leave for sure, makes it hard to plan.

I know what you mean about the drive. We did it last summer - went up for 4th of July weekend when he had a couple of days off. It took about 16-17 hours total driving time, and we managed to snag some really good buys on hotels on the way.We were going to fly up this time to save time, but when we were checking airline rates last week, we determined that we would save over $1,000 total by driving up, so we may do that anyway. This time, he will come back with us for a week.

We drove from New Hampshire to Goose Creek last May to deliver our son's car to him in A school. It was a grueling drive we stopped at two hotels along the way. The car did not burn a drop of oil which was great for a 11 year old car driving 1,000 miles.

Mine called the last few days.  He has leave immediately after graduation, and found out he starts Prototype (in SC) on 4/16.  He was bummed he doesn't get more grad hold.  But at least he won't be off too long and forget things.  I am getting really excited to go!

I can't believe that they are almost finished with Power School.  Wow.  I'm flying out for the graduation but only staying till Sunday.  Can't miss too much work unfortunately.  I haven't been to Charleston since I was a little kid, so I'm looking forward to seeing the area.  My son is hoping to go prototype in NY but doesn't have a date yet.  Sandyl7, I'm in Texas also.  Austin area.  Where are you located?
