hi...my daughter is in that one.she left January 9 set to graduate March 2.

Hi Doreen, my son is in this group as well.  Have you all gotten a phone call?

Marlena - yes I got a call on Saturday around noon.  Did you get one, too?  It was so good to hear his voice and have him tell me he was okay.  Now, I am much better.  I started planning my trip to Charleston, SC to see him at nuke school.

Where is your son going to A school?

Mandersom - Where is your daughter going for A School?

My son is going to A school in Great Lakes, so he should get liberty on Sat and Sun as well.  I HOPE!  I got a phone call Saturday also....so sweet the sound of his voice!  He sounded really exhausted though. How about yours?

Yes, he did sound tired.  They had to stand at attention for an hour and half that morning and he said his feet were killing him.  They only had their boots for 2 days.  I sent him with bandages for blisters so hopefully those are helping.  He said they were up for 36 hours when they got there.  They didn't move into the ship until that morning.  He said they had their dental cleaning the day or two before.  What did your son say about the first 10 days?  Also, he said he didn't have a job yet and the person for the mail yet, so I bet we won't get mail for another week.

Hey everyone my son left the 3rd of Jan out of Dallas tx and he is also in this division. he got to call on sat also which is was so good to hear from him . lucky that we heard the phone go off in Chunky cheese for a birthday party. sat outside crying my eyes out and he keep repeating that he will have to go up and this is the way to do it. he said they were not allowed to talk at night and say to much to each other.

hope everyone is doing okay. my son is only 19 i miss him

I know how you feel.  I keep thinking he is going to come home from work like he did most nights.  I really believe this is the best thing for him, so I am doing better than I thought I would.  The only way I can deal with him going to Charleston, SC is by planning my first trip there in mid April.  He should be allowed weekend liberty by then.  If not, I will change my dates.  It is going to be weird having him move across the country.  Right now he is only an hour a way.  We drove past the base twice so I can picture where he is.  That helps me alot.  Since we got a call on Saturday, I am assuming I won't get another call for awhile.  I will just be happy with some letters.

My letter finally came today, It reads SHIP 07 DIV 8,  PIR 03/02/12  Can someone tell me if in the mailing address reads 8 and not 78 will it get to my daughter?

Hi everyone. My son left on the 3rd. He is in this division as well. His girlfriend got the phone call on Saturday. I am a little jealous about that but I am trying to be ok with it and not be selfish because he needs to do what he needs to do to get through. I did tell him that she could have the first phone call but that was in my first letter which he hasn't received yet. I would have been a blubbering idiot anyway and he didnt need that. She called me as soon as they hung up and told me about the call which made me feel better. She said the first thing he said was to tell his mom he was sorry. I'm assuming he was sorry for calling her and not me. It was a relief to know that he is ok. I think that is the hardest part at first, not knowing how they are. He is my "baby" and I really had a hard time for a while. It is getting easier to deal with him being gone but I miss him so much!!! He left a BIG hole. Has anyone made hotel reservations yet? His school is suppose to be in GL, unless that changes, so we should have the weekend (minus the overnight) with him. I am getting so excited already, I can't wait!!! I'm afraid this is going to be the longest 6 weeks ever!!

Hey ladies! My oldest is in this same group. :) I was also very happy to get a call from her on Saturday. We had hoped she was going to get her date pushed out a few weeks (her father my ex husband died Christmas day) but because of systems being down it didn't happen. She sounded good said though so I am thankful for that! She said she has cried twice since being there. Once was when she had to fill out the paperwork on who could come to graduation (it was the first time she didn't have to write his name down). Thankful for someones son because she said there was a boy sitting by her that made her laugh <3

She is going to A school in Pensacola and is grad and go. I have not bought tickets yet because I am hoping to hear if she is leaving on Saturday or not. I want to spend every minute I can with her even if that means going to the airport and sitting with her. Her recruiter told me today that she would be flying out of Ohare but ot be honest he has been wrong about a lot so far so I am not sure if I should trust that or not.

Hi, my daughter is also in this grp and will be going to Pensacola. Have you heard much from her?

Hello mr,

My daughter left on Jan 9th 07/078  and I have not recieved a letter yet...  I'm waiting for mail every day...
