Hello

I hope this is my son's PIR date we only got his address and ship 07 DIV 079 from his recruiter.  So when I saw your post I thought I must have the correct date.  Maybe tomorrow I will get the formal letter.  My son left from Harrisburg on 01/05.  We are from Pa and YES this is so new to me.  I hope they are doing GREAT.  I can't wait to I hear from him.

My son left on 1/5/12 . I got his form letter on Saturday the 14;along with some small letters on the back of the back page.  It was wonderful to even get that. He is my oldest and it has been hard at times; but I am really excited for him also.  That is great that you got his address from the recruiter, my son's didn't have his last week so I was really happy when I could finally get that letter off.  The weather is alot different back there then we(west coasters) are used to in the winter I can barely wait to hear what he has to thing about that. LOL.. I hope you get a letter tomorrow also, I imagine you will.

Karen

Nice to hear from you Karen

I can not wait until I get the letter hope my son wrote something!!!!

Where is your son going to A school?

Keep in touch

Beth

This response has taken awhile for me. I have been busy  good for me it makes the time go by faster.  My son is going to Pensicola FL -computer IT training how about yours?  Hopefully by now you got a letter I got one yesterday, was so excited. I must have read the letter at least 10 times.. Its so funny how I cling to just little pieces of him right now.  I haven't made reservations yet for his graduation but we are planning on going how about you?

Karne

Hi I just received my sons info and a packet in the mail today and a short letter!  He sounded ok and is going to have his wisdom teeth out in 4 weeks!  Ouch!  Hope tht doesnt mess up his training! We are from Cocoa Florida!

Oh Wisdom teeth pulling ouch. I remember those days. I read somewhere that they do several SR at once, I am sure that is quite the sight. LOL  Hopefully you have heard from your SR by know.  I also read that this doesn't mess up thier training and they get 3 or 4 to recover I cant remember which.  Are you planning on going for graduation?

Karen

We received a letter from him on 1/26/12!  Was so happy to hear from him! We are planing on going to his training! Are you going?

I actually got my wisdom teeth taken out on Friday! He'll be okay =)

Good Day!

My husband just called me at work letting me know we finally received the form letter with a note from our son identifying Ship 07/Div 079, and PIR of March 2, 2012.  I have a letter ready to go as soon as I get home, but knew I could count on someone to start up a discussion group for our us...Thanks chris26mom!

There is a great page in here (somewhere...I came across it once before) with info on hotels, recommendations re: transportation, and they also have some consistent events set up each week for visiting parents (Meet and Greet with Sarge comes to mind).

Well, back to work!  Hope to meet you all very soon...MA

We ended up making a reservation at the Ramada. We have an eight (8) hour drive ahead of us, but we plan to stay the whole weekend because we are not sure how soon after PIR (Pass on Review) or graduation he will be leaving for A-school. When my son went in, he mentioned Medical Corp training was in Texas.

I guess the details will reveal themselves soon enough...see some or all of you soon!

MA
Hey Barb...haven't run into you yet. Hope you are having a wonderful time. Maybe after the ceremony...MA
