ProudMom: Got your address and scarf will go in mail on Monday.

Are there any others moms in our division that don't have one of our matching scarfs?  If so let me know asap.

Ladies, we are so close to PIR. This journey has been an emotional rollar coaster.  I know our SR's are the ones that are learning right now; however, this journey has taught me patience. I haven't mastered it, but I am sure trying. We live in a society where everything is instant: text me, call me, email it to me, overnight it to me, fax it, etc. but when our sons and daughters went into bootcamp there was nothing that was instant. It was a lot of waiting for things, mail, calls, etc. I hope to take away from this that sometimes when you don't get the instant things you want, to be exercise patience and rely on God that he will take care of things.

Share if you want on here what you have learned on this journey.

I completely agree on the patience Navy Mom.  It  is so easy to be in constant contact with people, especially out children.  I have learned to appreciate a handwritten letter as well!

I have also learned that all the days of raising our children, we've really made someone incredible!  It's nice to know we had a small part to play in helping someone become a sailor.

I have come to appreciate how much comaradarie there is within the military community too.  This site has shown me how much people can care about someone they don't even know.  It's really blessed me to have  all these ladies within our division, but also other divisions, veteran moms etc!  We are truly blessed in the journey.

Morning ladies, lets hope this today maybe our phone will ring. I don't think I have ever wanted my phone to ring more than I do today. If anyone gets a call please post it. Well we are certainly in the home stretch of this boot camp expierence.

if I do , I will post ...

can some one tell me the date of battle stations 21 for ship 3 div 048 thanks

Hi Josie, I've heard conflicting stories and I've heard it's been changed from the original date it was scheduled.  I heard today or tomorrow, but below someone listed Friday.  So, with that said, I think we are safe to assume it's anytime starting today through Friday.  I'm sure we all have our phones attached to our hips anyway, but just in case not, I would say starting tomorrow we will start getting calls.  I also read that if you get the call saying I'm a sailor to ask about the entire division because they will know if someone didn't pass.  If they say they all passed you can post it for those who have not recieved the call yet.  This will put some minds at ease until they get their call.  I can't even focus starting today....it really hit me today.  I'm so anxious.  I have not gotten a letter from Clay since one dated the 9th.  Which is not normal, he's been writing 2-3 times a week....so I'm a bit nervous.  I did hear that they had their final physical fitness test last friday, so since I didn't hear anything from him, I'm assuming all is good.  The running is what I've been worried about since he had the shin splints.  Anyway, can't wait to see all of you.......P.S.  on the Training Command FB page today it said with wind chill factor it's like 9 degrees BELOW zero...I guess I'm going to have to go buy some long johns and a coat....LOL

ladies, let try and win Trivia Tuesday today for division 47(it would be so great if we won this week because they would probably take the picture of them at the capping ceremony after battlestations 21)

Sorry ladies I didn't don trivia Tuesday. I tried but was not fast enough.

I got a letter today dated 1/12. It was written in the evening. He said it had been snowing all day. He  said he got a 5.0 on his PI and DMI----What do those letters stand for? He did mention knowing that a "ship mate" has passed away during his final run and said it made him feel a bit nervous for his final run the next day. Said he was the snow watch person and liked it. He said he is enjoying bootcamp and that it has changed him  and his mindset in a favorable way. Wow, what a letter-a mom waits for every to hear things like that.

Ladies, can you check your letters like ones dated 1/11 or 1/12 to see if they reference if they did their final written test?

PI=Personal Inspection

An inspection of a recruit’s personal appearance and uniform.

DMI=Departmental Material Inspection
An inspection of bed making, folding and stowing of gear.

I got a letter also, dated the 12th he said that it had been a very busy day. My son said that they have finished the gas chamber which I think was on thr 11th,,and were  starting the day with more firefighting he said it was fun,. and the final PFA on the 13th. He said that he bought pictures and the video.

I do have a letter dated January 10th and he said they have test 3 Wednesday, so I am thinking tomorrow the 18th.

Donna, I think and hope that on your letter dated the 10th  (which is a Tuesday) when he referenced Wednesday, that perhaps he meant the next day, the 11th for taking test 3. I don't know perhaps it is tomorrow. I was just hoping that all of our SR's had already taken it and passed it.

Does anybody else have any letters referencing date of test 3??
