Got a letter from my son confirming they are going to do Battlestations on the 20th.  Wanted to give some of the other ladies a heads up if they haven't heard from their loved one yet on the date.

My apologies if this question has been asked many times before. If after PIR, my SR is going to be staying in Great Lakes for his A School, is it true that we cannot give him his cell phone or his laptop any time during the weekend, even though he may need them both when he starts school the next day? Are we supposed to mail these things to him even though we have them with us?

Once your son gets checked in across the street in A School it is my understanding that he can than take his cell phone and/or laptop with him to keep there.

Is that everyone else's understanding?

Yes, once he's officially checked out of boot.  That is what I've been reading as well.

Just think ladies tomorrow afternoon our phones might be ringing. I am so ready for this. Did anyone get mail today?

No and I'm so frustrated. I don't think we will the calls til Friday. I think they are doing BS Thursday. Stef has gotten lots of letters and he continues to say they are doing them Thursday. It weird because my friend who's son is graduating this week is saying they also are doing BS like today? I think our Divs are ahead of schedule. Did you get a letter? I need one'!!!sooo bad.

I got a letter yesterday but not today. I read from another mom that her daughter told her that the letter dated 1/12 was the last letter they were going to be able to write. I don't know if this is true or not. Several of the parents including myself were told in letters that BS is tonight others were told tomorrow so I don't know.  I just know to be on the safe side I am going to have my phone next to me 24/7 until it rings.

Ok ladies, they either just finished BS or they are doing them tonight. How exciting that we are down to either getting a call tonight or tomorrow. I have been looking a the weather and it has been cold there, high in the 20's and they expect snow tomorrow. Next week the weather is showing high in the 30's with no snow. Being an Arizona girl it is a little hard for me to imagine 'a high temp of 20 and windchill of -9'. Burrrr. Good thing we all have scarfs to keep our necks warm, and they are big enough to wrap around our faces and ears. By today's mail everyone should have a scarf if you have sent me your address. Is there anyone that I have missed??

Got mine today!!! So cute. I love it. You are amazing. Thank you so much for thinking of all of us! I can't wait to see you all. I'm so sad, no letter today either I'm so stressed. If they were not passing stuff would we have gotten calls?
Do you think they would call this late? Tonight? Man.....this is so stressful. A letter would have helped. If they wrote on the 15 th and Monday was a holiday for mail, I could still get one maybe tomorrow? I'm hoping.

I am glad you like the scarf. I think at this point no news is good news. If they hadn't passed I think we would have gotten a call. So right now divisions 47-50 are in battlestations and are having an amazing time and by tomorrow afternoon we will all be getting that amazing call that  says "I am a Sailor".  Lets everyone post the second we hear something. Be sure to ask your SR if the whole division passed or if  they know if all the division passed.

Division 47 it was not last night so don't be anxious with your phones today.
