Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

While I am sad to see him go, I am very proud of his decision. I would like to meet other moms whose child or children have left for bootcamp at hte same time.

Luck, ha-ha, sure, the bad kind... I had emailed the recruiter says the division was not included about 3 minutes after he sent it... Got a response at 2:00pm today saying "oh yeah, you're right, I'll look into that". Great isn't he??

OMG. I think I would be blowing a gasket about now. What the heck is the LHD stuff? I haven't seen anything formatted that way... Got my fingers crossed for you! It would be really cool if our sons were in the same division. Long shot, I know, but still... Looks like we are looking at a March 9 PIR anyway, since those groups haven't been posted.

MEJ - the waiting for divisions for graduation dates is tough. I really hope I get the form letter today.
I made my Dad come over yesterday and help me with the Tuesday Trivia question from the RTC Facebook page. We were 15th with the correct answer. Hoping to get a win, so I posted it on my Facebook page, and my SRs Facebook wall, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for next week :)
First day back to work last Friday was my worst day, I just cried and cried. I think it was the normalcy of it. How am I supposed to just go on with normal life, when it's nothing like normal? There is a crisis going on here! Why don't people understand that? Well luckily I am much better now. Sunday I didn't cry at all, for the first time in a week. Monday I cried when I got the box, but tore through it. Now I'm debating over contacting that !?#*recruiter again today. -

My son also left on the 10th for Great Lakes. We have received his box, but now we are waiting for info. If I don't hear anything by Friday, I think I will go talk to his recruiter.

I broke down and called the recruiter today. He is such a wonderful guy. He had someone in the office, but called back within a half an hour. (then apologized that it took so long to get back to me.) My son is ship 2 (the USS Rueben James) and division 917.

You are fortunate to have a good recruiter. I cannot say how I feel, but my SR's recruiter has still not provided me with the division. I've been asking since Tuesday :(

My son is enlisting at the end of this college semester. He is so very excited but me on the other hand, excited but yet so nervous. Not being able to speak to him daily or get to him is the hardest. What you ladies are saying really helps calm me. Thank you so much. Very proud of your children. Please thank them for me, for serving our country. God bless them and YOU.

Depending on what job he gets, it maybe awhile before he actually goes in. That way you will have some more time to adjust to the idea. My son enlisted in June, but didn't leave until Jan.

Still no form letter! I did finally get a division from his recruiter, 081. Yippee!! Wish I had that letter! Just some sign that he's still okay. I know, no news is good news.

No form letter on this end, either, but I am soo happy you finally got the division number. Now you can at least get a letter in the mail! Our sons are only two divisions apart. What that means, I have NO idea, LOL.
