Received my form letter yesterday (Dec. 17).  He says everything is going well and he already see the changes in himself.  So proud but sure do miss him!

Anyone else?

SharonL  My son missed the 40 minute SIQ due to dental work. So, including the first "I got here" 3 second call, that's all we've had too. We have gotten several letters though luckily happy and upbeat for the most part.

Hi everyone...I have only received the I am here mom call and since I was in a meeting I only got a voicemail. I have received two letters that tell me I might get a call in a week. Can anyone tell me what that is all about?

Darcie- I think its 4-5.

My SR last letter said he was having fun. I new he would love it. He said they did there Marlinspikes also and they did well.

That is good! I forgot what the Marlinspikes are...

But I did hear boot is supposed to be fun now for them, which makes me happier knowing they will not be as miserable for the rest of it. :)

(Sigh) Only 3 weeks and 17 hours left until PIR and I MISS MY SR LIKE CRAZY!! I can't wait to see him, and hold him in my arms again! Please 2/10/12 hurry up and get here! I feel like it should be getting easier, but it seems harder. Is everyone hanging in there okay?

Trying to! No letter today.. usually get one on Thursday.. maybe tomorrow cuz of the holiday?? :(

Some days are not bad for me.. I miss him like hell.. some days I can't seem to stop crying. Just up and down.

I've gotten numerous letters and a phone call! My boyfriend has also seen the changes in himself which I am very proud of. Even by the way he writes in my letters, I can tell the Navy is changing him for the better! Good Luck to you ladies.

Happy it seems like most everyone has been able to hear from their sons/husbands. Its very exciting. Even more so.. only about 2.5 weeks to go! Monday is going to be day 5-2 for our boys. Should be gas-chamber week for them.. Then after that they only have battlestations and we will be getting their "I am a Sailor" call.. Can't wait! See all you lovely ladies soon at the meet-n-greets and PIR.

Do not forget your purple scarves!!!!! (and ribbons if you got some, too!)

Have not received my scarves/ribbons yet, but I have been hearing REALLY good things from those that have. I am VERY excited and can't wait to see Lala's work in person and that soon I will be able to wear them proudly to PIR. :)

(do not worry Lala, I know you are working on them and that it takes time! <3)

I have gotten letters and a phone call too. In the last letter he actually said that marlinspikes was very fun. And was excited to do the fire training. He sounds so grown up allready. Can't wait to see him. 3 weeks to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The word has gotten to them about the purple too. He was telling me in his last letter that I should wear purple if I didn't allready know. LOL

Awesome, Yea, I told Thomas to spread around the scarf color and about this website. Looks like it is working :)

I got a letter from my son Julian yesterday and he said for us to all wear purple so the message is out there.  He is one of the recuits that had to have his wisdom teeth cut out at the beginning of bootcamp.

Aww, my husband did too! He said I got to miss him looking like a hamster. Poor guys/gals. :)
