Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

The box
My daughter left on the Jan.17th and I received "The Box" on the 20th. I knew the box was coming but I thought it would be in a couple of weeks. I was truly not prepared to open the door and see that box with my baby's name on it just sitting there. So, now that I've gotten the box and this is going into her 2nd week. What's next?

Next you will get the form letter with her address info. then you can start sending letter and you can join the PIR date, and Division that she is in to talk to other moms who's kids are right there with yours. Around week 3 or so she will start sending you letters too. Phone calls, well can't count on that. Maybe one, or two if you are lucky.
Hang in there. I know it's hard but it will be over before you know it. And honestly, MOST of them make it through, so that says something.

You will get the form letter. They will probably let her write a short note to you. That letter will give you the PIR date and her correct address. You can start writing letters and planning your trip for her graduation. You will start receiving letters from her in a couple weeks probably. But atleast you can write her. Send anything (letter, card news clippings) that will fit in a regular envelope.No treats though.She won't get them. Hang in there.

Helen - you should be receiving a form letter withhin the next week. This will contain all the PIR info.
