For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

Im hoping to find other moms out here that have a son/daughter going to boot camp at the same time. It is only 1 week away I have so many emotions, hoping Im not alone. Not sure how Im going to handle my life without my son at home. Oh my goodness trying so hard to be strong but it is not easy.

My son leaves the 31st for MEPS and flies out Feb 1. We are working on the final home cooked meals before he leaves. So far so good at our end. He's quite excited to go. ;-). Good Luck

@ samsmom..My daughter will be doing the same, we are in Dallas. Party On sunday, she is having mixed emotions , shes big on family and tradition.
We are in Maryland . Had a party on the 14th and the family will be getting together for breakfast this Sunday. He's trying to squeeze everyone in before he leaves. But he's totally stoked to go! Good Luck with the party!
My daughter will be sworn in and leave for Great Lakes Monday, 1/30. She is my youngest, and I dread how empty the house will seem without her! : ( That is me being selfish, but can't help it right now!

I know exactly how you feel. My youngest just left for boot camp yesterday. I am a single, empty nester. After boot camp, he will go directly to a ship and his first choice is Japan. NOOOOOO. I want him in Norfolk, VA which is 1 1/2 from me. And like you said, that is me being selfish but I can't help it!
My Son also left for GL on Monday, 1/30. He is also my youngest. Have you recieved her box, I did get his box with his belongings and recruitment paper work, but I have not recieved his form letter or a letter from him yet. How are you doing its been too long since I heard from him. I'm worried.
