I have been trying to plan my wedding to my sailor. Which is some time in April....that is when he comes home on leave. I have my dress, the colors picked, and where it is going to be. This is the problem that I am having.....I'm trying to find bridemaid dresses. Then today one of my bridemaids is like let me plan you wedding. I dont know how to take that. I feel like she is to help me somethings, but not take over. I just dont know how to tell her that I want to plan it.

Look at target online. I got my bridesmaids dresses for $30 each! They were super cute and served their purpose. my friends weddings that I have been in the bridesmaid dress I purchase cost $150 for each wedding and I'm at 3 and counting! Don't do that to your friends : ) I have 3 dresses in my closet I will never wear again. I have tried selling them on bravo bride and craigslist with no luck. Good luck in your planning. Craigslist can save you tons of money!

I had a friend that let her bridesmaids go to Victoria Secret online and pick out any dress they wanted as long as it was in one of two colors since most stores online have like clothes that are all in the same shade like say your colors were pink and black and you told the girls they could get a dress in midnight black or rockstar pink (made up names) but that way all the ppl who get a pink dress are getting the same shade pink ya know? But she also did that bc everyone has a different body shape so they could pick out a dress that fit their body plus vs has cute dresses so they can actually wear them later again. As far as the bridesmaid just be honest tell her its your wedding you want to do the planning but mayb give her a task to help you with. Maybe she just sees you are stressed and wants to help but dont give up your dream wedding because a bridesmaid was pushing you to do otherwise.

I love the dresses like that, when the colors match, or are in the same color family, but the style isn't matchy matchy.  Very stylish.  Shoes are the bigger problem.

also! if you go to Michaels Arts and Crafts! they have the best Wedding section! They have little odds and ends you can put on the reception tables as snacks, little candies, etc... I even got my own veil there and the bouquet holder! I put roses in it myself and wrapped it in floral wire. Theres all kinds of little things you can do to save money... I think they even have little crowns for the brides head that look a lot like the ones at the David's Bridal Stores! I paid $200 for mine there! I will only wear it once! I hope my daughter wears it though!

Hope that helps!

hmmm...she might think or feel you are getting super stressed and is trying to help. I would approach it as nice as possible because she is your friend and wants to look out for you. Tell her I had my heart set on planning my own wedding, but I really value your help! Something like that... About the bridesmaids dresses is... Ive been to weddings where everyone picked their own dress since they had to pay a lot of money for this dress and was theirs to keep. SO they picked their own. Something cute so they can wear it somewhere else as well perhaps?

Hope all goes well! Best Regards!

I had to plan my wedding quickly (less than 30 days) so I decided to let my bridesmaids wear any long black dress that they wanted. Many of my bridesmaids already had black dresses so they didn't have to spend the money, and the ones who had to buy them were able to get ones that they would wear again. I had the girls wear sashes in purple (my colors) to tie everyone together.
