I got a letter from my son! He says they are starting their 2nd week. They have 3 RDC. He has met some SR's that he called "buddies." He opened an account with the credit union. He also mentioned he will be gettinghis dress blues this week. I'm so glad I got a letter. Today is a great day!

no letter yet fr. my son. Hopefully i will get mine by the end

of this week. JC's Mom.. i think we live in the same State.

Dayton, Ohio

Ok, here's how my letter went:

"Family, I am sorry I was not able to write you sooner", I miss you all very much but everything is going well here.  P Days sucked!  The training is going well, I was selected as the Starboard Watch Division leader, (one proud momma here).  Request that you guys update me on "The Walking Dead" when it starts up in February Mom!  Dad, if you are going to watch Spartacus, please update me on that as well.  Danie(sister), please let me know whats going on in the sports world!  Our division is pretty cool, except that some people are having issues with attention to detail and paying attention"  That sets us all back but we are trying to help those having them.  Please send more, more and more letters, they are a life saver and now that we are starting our 3rd week(Jan23) we will have more opportunity to write on Sundays only.  I will give you a call this weekend so that I can talk to everyone.  Only 5 weeks til graduation!! love Buzz

Thanks for sharing it, Nancy!

I got my letter! It is full of my SR's humor.  He said he passed his PFA Baseline and DEP so he is now an E-2.  He thinks the guys are all pretty cool.  It seems he is the Laundry Room Petty Officer...aha...karma! Hope you all get your letters soon.  He reminded me to tell everyone to WRITE LETTERS! :)

My SR didnt mention if he had received my letters. I have almost blown through 1 book of stamps. Just finished another letter to him. I sent him a "hang in there" card in a white envelope!

BrandonsMom - We are just trying to send things that won't be a reason to get our SRs noticed.  It's not against the rules to send a colored envelope.

JC's Mom - My SR said that, as of Sunday, they had not received mail.  SR knew that there was mail for the division, just that they hadn't received it yet as the mail PO hadn't finished training.  Don't fret.  By now they've probably received the backlog of mail (or they will soon).  He didn't receive your letters because there hadn't been mail delivery to the division - not because you did something wrong.

i did not get mine and was sad..i think i am the only mom here that did not get a letter but same ship and Div.

Hang in there proudmom2.  You are NOT the only one.

You weren't the only one.  All this week as people were posting that they got their letter, I kept thinking "what if he didn't write?"  And then a 4 PAGE letter showed up.  I don't think he's ever written a 4 page letter in his life! So yours is probably just around the corner. :)
