Hi Everyone!!!!!!   My name is Robin.  My Daughter just got to BC on Tuesday.... still so tearful, but VERY proud of her!    I am sooooo confused with what I am reading and what I am being told.  Couple of questions for all that have been through it or are way ahead of us!!!

She is going to A school in Florida (we assume her PIR is 3/23 or 3/29) haven't gotten the official letter yet...... anyway

Can she stay over night with us in the Marriott after Friday's graduation??  And then return on saturday??  Or does she sleep in the barracks again and we meet her at the airport to see her off to Florida???  Some say she can sleep over and we have her for "24" hours... others say they did away with it????  Not sure... thanks everyone!

No, she cannot.  You will see you on Saturday and Sunday but they have a cerfew and have to be back.  But you do have all day with her.  My sone is going to A school in Florida as well.  He graduates on 3/2-he left 1/5 and I still haven't gotten a letter from him.  I am hoping today since a lot of the other moms who have kids in Ship 9 Div 075 got letters yesterday.  Biting all my nails off waiting.

I hope you get one today...... so hard waiting.  I know I will be stalking my mail carrier!  Are we able to meet them at the airport to see them off to A school?  We will have her Ipad and phone........ where are you staying for PIR?

Did you get your letter???  :)

If your sailor has a school in Great Lakes then you get to spend the weekend with your sailor but they have to go back to base every night. If they have to leave to go to school then you get to spend Friday with your sailor. Sometimes if there is a holiday graduatuion weekend then you may get another day. If they are leaving they get them on the bus to the airport around 2am. You can go to the airport and stay with them as long as you want.

UGH.. no, she is leaving for A school in Florida.  I will have to meet her there, at the airport!!!  WOW that is early!!!!  ugh!   I will start driving home afterwards, I guess!  Thanks sooo much!

Hi Robin....My daughter also got to GL on Tuesday and will be staying there for her "A" school as well. I am looking so forward for the form letter and box. I have written a few letters so far and am just waiting on her address to send them :)

I have written a few as well... my sons wrote some, and added glitter, not sure I will mail those, I don't want her to open them and have a mess of glitter all over, she may get in trouble! LOL   So glad to meet you.... guess i'll see you at graduation!  Once we get our dates!

I can't wait only 1 week until I get to see my daughter for her Graduation. I am so excited to finally see her after only being able to talk for what brief time she could call.

Congrats to you and your daughter!!!!!  Horray.. or rather HOOYAH!!!  :)    Have a wonderful time!  Be safe in your travels!

There seem to be so many variables!  But.... I guess the only thing I will know in the next few weeks anyway.... her address and PIR date!  :)  Thank you sooooooo much!  And Congrats to your Son and YOU!

Our son PIR'd in July and had A school in Pensacola.  We took him for the day directly from PIR and had him back to barracks by 7PM (don't be late!)  Then he went to sleep and was up at 2AM Sat morning to go to the airport by bus.  We met him there at 4AM with his cell and laptop in a backpack.  This is the only way you can get these items to them unless you ship them- which is hard because you wait again for a new address. - and they want these items as soon as possible. The time we spent at the airport, though early, was great.  We were able to get a gate pass through the USO and spent 6 hours with him, walking, eating, and sleeping.  As they boarded the plane in uniform, the other passengers and crew gave them a standing ovation and tons of applause and cheers.  It was tissue time!   We did not see him again for 6 months.   SO take advantage of the time.  In other words, you will probably not get to have your recruit over night.

Thank you so much for this valuable info...  I feel more prepared!  Tissues....... area must!  LOL  Congrats to you and your Son!
