Its great to have other mom's on here. I just wanted to share with you today that out of the blue my SR called me TODAY :) I was so excited. I was at work and saw the area code come up 847 and I first paniced then took a deep breath and there on the other end of the phone was my Very tired baby(he is my oldest lol. But I had a mom moment) our call was brief I didn't want to break down in tears. He said he likes it.. kinda chuckeled and said it is boot camp mom. He said that thier group just finished processing and he will get to write his first letter this Sunday. He left for BC 1/5/12 and waited for 4 days for others to join this division. He said they are making alot of beds and folding a lot of clothes. Anyway just wanted to share and look forward to meeting more of you later. Oh also I commented about the weather our area south of Seattle Washington got dumped on last night 18inches and he said that at one point they had 8 inches but it has been really cold, down in the single digets. And that the Navy has issued them some really nice coats and there blue workout fatigues which are very warm.

HI
I am hoping we have more moms join in :) Support during this time is so important, Have you had much expierence with the Navy?
Hi,
No I'm new to this...I just booked our hotel room at Ramanda Inn for 3/2 Graduation. We are going to take a few days to drive up for graduation...should be fun. I'm hoping to receive a call or letter soon...I'm hopeful everyday. Keeping myself busy; yesterday I did a mass mailing to all of James friends his contact information so they can send a letter or card to support him. I just look forward to hearing from him, I hate note being able to talk to him to know how he is doing. The videos for bootcamp what to expect has been very helpful in understanding what the process is and what their up to. The website is great...I wish someone from the navy would have told me about the website, a friend of my mine whose child is in the marines told me about this website...This should be included in the initial information letter as one of the websites.
Its nice that you live close enough to drive we(my self and my son's girlfriend) are flying into Chicago from Seattle Washington on the Thursday before, It is a little awkward trying to figure on when to leave but I think we are going to fly out Sunday AM. After GL my SR Is going to Pensicola FL, which is even further away :) But I am sure in the big skeem of things he will go even further during his active duty. It will get easier over time. I am getting ready to look for a hotel room. I have heard that the Ramada Inn is a nice place and they do a good job with a Meet and Greet on the Friday before. I know what you mean by staying busy I work full time and my sister and I are going on a Western Carribean Cruise on 2/3 -good timing that way when we get back its just a few short weeks until I can see him.
Sometime I blame Hollywood for some of my anxiety about bootcamp.. LOL although my SR has assured me that things are going well

mulfofeb...I am not part of this division but I just had to post...my sons recruiter gave me the information about this website. I can't remember exactly what it was but it was either a business card or small pamphlet. He highly recommended I join! I am surprised you didn't get the information!
Hi everyone,
Still checking the mail everyday for a letter...do you know if they can write once a week? Has anyone received a 2nd phone call. I know "no news is good news....but I just want to know how James is doing....I keep hoping Sat mail already arrived...nothing. So I'll keep hoping soon. Does anyone know approx, how long it takes for a SR to receive mail from home? I've sent three letters in last 2 weeks. Can't wait for the big day...Debbie
Hi.. Yes my son called me this AM again, this is his 3rd counting the one I made it call. He said that this division was starting week 3. And that they are proably going to get to call again next week/weekend. He sounded good tired but good. He likes it alot and said they get about 4 hours of sleep night. :) Which I dont know about yours but my SR used to get about 12 hours a day lol.. Also he thought that they would get mail again tonight or tomorrow and they were able to write again tomorrow.
Karen
boo, they have been getting calls? I have not received a thing besides the letter the other day. does the 847 zip code come up?
I am OFFICIALLY part of this division!!!! My boyfriend's name is Michael, he wrote that he is on the drill team and will be holding one of the flags at graduation. =) He said the division started with 90 guys and now there are 72. AHH I'm so excited to have heard from my boyfriend. =) Anyone else have news?
I am so excited, yeah mine could have written it when it was 72.. he wrote his letter over many days lol he said only 10 people get to do anything but march so I figure they know eachother! This is so exciting, I will include your son's name when I write to see if we made the connection. =) I'm excited they will be in the front "doing fancy things with the stick" as my boyfriend referenced.. *shakes head* lol =)
