So the form letter FINALLY came today and now we know that our loved ones have a PIR date of 3/16. Anyone else out there? I need to start looking at hotels and plane tickets. I was trying to hold off until we had the actual date.

That is quite a drive! We are in Houston and are going to fly. It would be cheaper to drive with the four of us, but I can't take the extra time off work. I was just so glad that his PIR fell within Spring Break for his brother and sister. Ya'll be safe on that long drive.
I;m really missing him today. It has been a rough weekend...I have to have a test for my adrenal gland and I have to be off soda, tea, coffee and ciggs for 3 days before the test. That on top of him being so far away with no contact is just really getting to me today.
Yes, it does make it harder when you are dealing with other things too. I don;t have any little babies anymore...my youngest is 18. I did a little around the house to try to take my mind off my troubles. It does help. I hope you all get to feeling better soon!
Wow. That IS rough. I remember those days. You definitely have your hands full with one in bootcamp and a toddler in the house. More power to you!
Hang in there.
We made our plane reservations, but still need to make the hotel reservations. I hope it isn't going to be too late with such a huge PIR class. One of the PIR posts mentioned a hotel with an indoor pool but didn't say which one it was. I guess I just need to sit down and do some online surfing to find out what is available.
Has anyone else figured out how much time we are actually going to have with our SRs? It looks like it varies from a couple of hours to a couple of days. It is so hard to make plans without knowing.
We made reservations at the Country Inn & Suites in Gurnee, IL. This is about 8 miles from the base, just off I-94. There's 3 or 4 hotels all right in that same area, also a La Quinta, Best Western and I think a Fairfield if I remember correctly, but the last one didn't have rooms left. From what I hear, only SR's that will get the whole weekend for liberty will be those doing their A school in Great Lakes. All others will likely only have Friday, and will either leave for A school late Friday or early AM Saturday. We set our return flight to leave in the afternoon on Saturday so we'll have the morning just in case, plus don't have to rush. Hope that helps.
Hi... Where did you get the information? I've book from the 15th thru 19th just in case he gets the weekend for leave.
Can't remember for sure, but think we saw some limited information regarding this on the RTC website. I think bottom line is we probably won't know how much time we'll have with our SR's until much closer to graduation, so just have to take the best guess we can, and enjoy every minute we get. There's tons to do in that area, so if you plan to go home on 3/19 and your SR has to leave on 3/17, I don't think you'll run out of stuff to do. Is your SR in division 089? Where you from?
Members of 03/089. We have a chance to get a picture of our div 089--the whole division not just our SR. If you are on Facebook, look for RTC. They do something called Trivia Tuesday at 12 noon central time. You have to follow the rules to the letter to win and get a picture of your SR's div. Once on their wall, look at notes and you'll see the rules. Might have to "like" their wall to be a part of it. Besides that, the wall has lots of info from someone at RTC. Good Luck to us!
So I liked the page, but I have a conference call at noon. I would LOVE to see a photo of the group.
