Hello all fellow shipmothers, girlfriends, best friends, aunties, grammas, sisters, etc...
Just wondering who is in the same ship and division as my son. I live in Wisconsin and will be staying at the Navy Lodge for the PIR ceremony.
My son will be going to Groton after PIR. I haven't gotten a phone call from him yet but am excited to hear from him.
YOU?

Jackie-- did he tell you that in a letter? My bf said he didn't pass it the first week because he was really sick but he did great this time! He was running quite a bit but he slacked off the last 2 months (probably my fault because we were together 24/7) but he said he is doing fine now so i'm happy about that! I'm sure Chris has improved now and will pass it next time!! :)
yes is was his letter
My son told me he didn't pass the 'baseline' physical fitness test, but that he wasn't overly worried. I also bugged him, as did his father to work out. He did great back in June, July and August when we found he was going in the Navy. It was just over the last few months that he started slacking, and then any time I reminded him, he glared at me. Well, in his letter, he actually said that we were right, that he should have worked out more. I can't believe how much he's maturing, in such a short time!
lol...I think Chris thought that he was ok because he was in such excellent shape before and he hadn't gotten fatter or anything...lol
Sounds like a good reason to me; our son is a major video gamer and was never athletic. We're a family of computer nerds and none of us are into sports. He played baseball and soccer when he was younger, but has not done much the last several years.
i suffer from computer butt myself...you will see
lol - question for you Jackie, I'm seeing discussions about colors and scarves, and I'm not following (I think I'm just too upset about not getting a call!). What's that all about? Are we buying tshirts so that we all match at PIR?
somebody posted the suggestion about t-shirts but I think everyone is leading more to colored scarves...unless everyone wants t-shirts instead. I know that we are getting the division t-shirts...there is a link for that. so I would rather do the scarf thing...actually i think a feather boa would be cute...but I am just a little goofy
Hey Jackiequeen - Who is picking the colors for the different divisions. Division 75 would like to do the colored scarves I think.
You guys can pick whatever color you would like! So far we have green, red, pink, and purple. There are so many colors to pick from...white, black, blue, orange, yellow...whatever, if you want to do zebra stripes that would be fun too! LOL. I am making some ribbons like LaLaRibbonqueen makes for myself and my family too. You have seen her ribbons right? I am doing it a little different than her though, I ordered some hat pins and will put my ribbons with my SR's name and division number on them behind the pins. The pins are nice, they say "My son is a Sailor, My Grandson is a sailor, my brother is a sailor," and I got a different one for his girlfriend that says "I heart my sailor", that way we can wear them without the ribbon afterwards, like of a coat or hat or on my work uniform!
I got a call too!! He's sick but relieved he didn't have to have any teeth removed!! Said he RAN to the NEX building to call lol and was out of breath when I picked up! Ahhh I'm so relieved now! Can't wait to see him March 2nd!!!
