Hello all fellow shipmothers, girlfriends, best friends, aunties, grammas, sisters, etc...

Just wondering who is in the same ship and division as my son.  I live in Wisconsin and will be staying at the Navy Lodge for the PIR ceremony.

My son will be going to Groton after PIR.  I haven't gotten a phone call from him yet but am excited to hear from him.

I wonder if he was with my son - I got a call too and my son said "Mom I hate to cut this short but the next guy REALLY wants to call his wife" the timing is right - he sounded great said their division was leading the pack! So glad we are starting to get phone calls. He was congested, but he said most of the guys are.

aw, my guy is sick too!! he said all the germs are gross.. well not his exact words lol!! He said it sucks not having any freedom and he was ready to mail tonight!! said they don't get any on the weekends so he is excited about tonight :)

oh no :/

I recieved a call from my SR just an hour ago I am so happy he is doing good it was a very short call but I was just so happy to hear his voice.

Am I the only one that didnt get a call from there SR today? ? His mom didn't get one either. :(

emmie...if they are standing watch they don't get to call...maybe he can in a little bit??  I am hoping!

Alyssa...please know that it's ok...at least he got to talk to one of us.  He tried you before me. I feel aweful that I cut it short so he could try you. I wonder if his calling card ran out of minutes. I am going to send him a new one.

Talked to Chris for about 20 minutes and he was VERY tearful at the start. said their division is considered the senior division as they are ahead of everyone else in the training.  Which he seemed pretty proud of. He said he wasn't sure what they started with but they have 80 right now. Someguys are not able to keep up the pace so that drags them down as a whole. He said this division and 075 are all male.

It was good to hear from him.

I got a call today!  I was so happy to hear his voice but was caught off guard because I was at work.  I'm trying so hard to remember every word he said.  He sounds good; he says things are getting a bit easier.  He talked about how much he wanted to come home in the beginning (he's only 18 and never really been away from home), but now that things are getting into more a routine, he's getting used to it.  He told my husband (who he talked to before me) that he got his wisdom teeth out, but while in bed rest he studied for some written test, which he did fairly well on.  He's working on the running; Jackie, I hope he's not one of the ones dragging down the division :(.  Then his calling card ran out, and I feel bad b/c I didn't get a chance to properly end the call.  He said he'll call as soon as he can and keep sending letters.  I can't wait until March 2!

lol....debra...chris said they are all working on their running. (he didn't pass the baseline because of his running) I think he meant in other areas, not sure where.

My SR didn't pass the run the first week since he was so sick but he is doing much better now and I'm sure they all are!! I think the first few weeks are the hardest for them! Hopefully getting to talk to their gfs/wives/moms/dads gave them all some motivation!! :)

I'm so glad we got to have more of a candid conversation today. He got to make a phone call to me yesterday as a reward for doing so well on a test but it was sort of "awkward" and I didn't know why! and short! but today he was sure to ask if everything was ok because i sounded weird on the phone yesterday! lol I said NO you sounded weird! and he said he was a foot away from his chief and couldn't say the things he wanted to say because he would get picked on! :(  So I'm glad/relieved we got to say what we wanted to say today! I think he felt better after that and I definitely do!!! :)

Jennie thats really sweet! I think Chris probably broke down after talking to me...thats just how he is. Yeah, next week is the hump and then its a downward slide...I can't wait to see him and hear all his stories. I had so many questions and was firing them at him left and right!  He really appreciates all the cards and letters.

yay for next week being hump week!!! I can't wait either!!! He said it sucks lol and he wishes he was home hanging out! I'm sure they will have a ton of stories to tell! I asked a lot of questions too.

He was telling me one guy was making phone calls and all he got was voicemails and he was crying. ugh I felt so bad!!!

wonder if that was Chris...called my hubby twice and Alyssa once.  Got me finally.
