Our son is in Corpus now, has been there since early April.  I'm wondering if there are any moms out there whose kids are in approximately the same stage?  How's it going for them?

I haven't been on this forum for awhile, so just catching up. My son has just classed up for primary VT28 Rangers. Interesting to read the primary primer listed above. Thanks!

Mary, My son also is at Corpus and has been there since about April.  I believe he gets winged "about" Oct. 7th.  He'll more than likely be flying P3s.  Your comments above seem to reflect my son's feelings as well re: mechanical issues and delays for flights.  It's a lot of work and he studies really hard.  He also lives on Padre Island.  My son says Corpus is "OK," but he's really anxious to move on to the next phase of his traning.

DS just finishing up primary in CC, TX.  Great news he was selected for Jets and will be going to Meridian, MS for Advanced training. I;m very proud of him.  Lets keep our aviators in our prayers.

Late to the party, but my son is in Corpus and has been in primary about 3 months now. Any other moms out there? We live in San Antonio so we get to see him a couple of times a month right now, so it has been really nice. Totally clueless about what is to follow, though!

My son was in Corpus from July till January. He was selected for jets in Kingsville. After they finish primary they get selected for a platform and where they wil get their training. Then it is about a year in that location. While in Corpus, my son was constantly studying to be up on all classes and sims. Not much time to do anything else. The better your son does, the more likely he will get his first pick for intermediate. You are fortunate to be so close and to be able to see him often. I can only send cookies and whatever else I can think of.

Hi, Judy! Thanks for the info! My aviator is flying pretty regularly now so we havent seen him in a few weeks. The studying is intense!!! Im not sure what his first choice is - he usually tells us he'll fly whatever they want him to!

Great that you live close by and he is able to visit.  Our son has now moved on to advanced and is in Milton for his first choice, which was helicopters.  What I learned from primary is that they are studying and learning so much new information that it sometimes feels like trying to drink from a firehose!  So we understood when he was too busy to talk!

The studying IS intense!!! We havent seen him in a few weeks now and we talk rarely. All he has time for is the occasional text and I always text him on the days he flies. I dont know what his first choice is- he says he'll fly whatever as long as he can fly something! Not looking forward to his next move- I missed him terribly when he was in OCS and then Pensacola!

Our son is in Las Cruces now because the weather in CCis poor this time of year. He's getting close to his solo!

Found out today that Logan will probably be heading to Las Cruces next week!!

Great! Good luck to your son. Mike loves it out there. Lots of flying time. They seem to be pushing SNA's through as fast as possible. Only down side is living in a hotel for 2 months. What these kids? men and women go through to live their dreams! From what I've heard, I know I couldn't handle the pressure.

over a huge hurdle with son's T-34 solo flight complete!
