My son is on laundry duty also and told me about the "hit".  I have heard lots of stories about people getting "fired" from their jobs and then getting "rehired" again.   I think the RDC's just mess with them so much.  My son also had a his wisdom teeth out already and had just been to his 6 month dental check up a couple of weeks before he left for bc so I doubt he had any dental work either (he did not mention any).

I bet our boys are friends because my son said that he and the other laundry SR's do get to visit a little while doing their job.  He also said that the laundry is gross.   Ha Ha.   His girlfriend and I laugh and laugh about him having laundry duty because he has never done his own laundry in his life.    In fact, at home, he could not even manage to get his laundry to the laundry basket regularly. :)

OMG!  I bet they are and the whole thing about the doing laundry has me laughing as well. When I first heard that's what he was doing, I almost wet my pants I laughed so hard.  Ya gotta love Karma!  He has done laundry because he lived on his own with a roommate...he just never ever folded anything or ironed it.  I am assuming by the time they graduate they will know how to fold and iron. As a matter of fact, his room (he had moved back home about a year ago) is filled with laundry that didn't get done and I am slowly making my way through it!  Kelly, my name is Lauren Bronson. My SR is Nolan Bronson. He did talk about the fact that he is making friends.

Lauren, my son is Mason Moore.   He had actually moved into an apartment for about 6 months with two other guy friends and while he was there, if any laundry got done, his girlfriend did it!    Then he also moved back home for a few months knowing he was leaving for the Navy and I began doing his laundry again (I know I should have made him do it :)  )   I just couldn't stand all the wet towels everywhere.  He sounded sad about the "hit" and I know he was sad for Nolan even though he never used his name.   It was Nolan that he was talking about.

I have seen you on the FB pages, too.   I am Kelly Howard.   I was so, so happy to get the call today.   I feel so much better.   I could tell so much more from the tone of his voice on the phone than I could from his letter.   I think they are doing better than we thought!   :)

I got my call too! I was in Sam's Club when the phone rang. I found the section where there was furniture and plopped myself on down. I couldn't believe it! The first thing he mentioned was that he and the others SR's know we are talking on here and Facebook as previosly mentioned. He thought that was cool. I told him we were talking about how to distinguish us and represent them. Again, he was so pleased we do this. His job is the guard of the cleaning products. Yes, Karma is a Bitch! He said that I will be impressed by the way he folds and makes a bed. I had joked with my Mom the other night while folding clothes, that the way the SR folds is just grab in 2 hands and wad it up. He said they bring in new SR's from other divisions. I tried to ask, but both my spouse and I think others were listening. Tomorrow will be 3-1. He had passed his swimming, said it was easy. The problem is the young man is a slow runner. Always has been. When he was playing baseball, his grandmother got him a personal trainer to help him run better. I reminded him of one the exercises they use to do. They would skip up and down the driveway. He said, "that's one of the exercises." Again, Karma is a Bitch. I subscribe to a guy about running and the proper way. So I'm going to print out and send.  He said they are working with him and he has a couple more times to pass. While in Sam's, was able to do a 3-way calls with his grandmother, father, brother, and step-brother. We used the entire 40 minutes. I swear Ladies, as soon as I was out of Sam's, I felt this ungodly release. This huge weight just lifted. Part of that weight is I don't have to worry about my phone appendage. He thanked me for all the letters and keep them coming. Well thats my call. I already know I am going to sleep well tonight with this weight gone. My SR is fine. Woo Hoo!!

PHONE CALL!!!  Yeah.....Talked to Eric for about 20 minutes yesterday afternoon.  It was so good to hear from him!  He sounded absolutely amazing!  He has been promoted to E2 and is pretty excited about that and has also made a few really good friends in BC.  I asked him about his days and he said they have to get up at 4:00am (from the kid I was throwing cold water on at 1:00pm to get him up) and "it's not bad mom, I usually get up earlier so I have more time to get ready".  Good grief!  I had just pulled into the grocery market and slammed my truck into park and just chatted away.  He said it's really not "terrible" but it can really suck sometimes...not entirely sure how to take that.  I'm so glad that we all got calls.  I know exactly how everyone is feeling this morning....on Cloud 9!!  Thank you group for all your support.  I don't know how I would have made it through these past 27 days without being able to "check in".  Thanks

Yay!!!! My SR called yesterday too! I almost missed it!!!! He had 20 mins and i was able to talk to him for 15!!! He sounded sad:( But said he was doing better! He said my letters help him get through:) So happy everyone got theirs!!!!

Where do I go on FB to chat with you all?

Go to the US Navy Recruit Training Command page.  On the left is a list of Forums.  Click on that and then look for Ship 09 Div 075 and there we are.  I think you have to like the page first or something.  It is great.  There are pictures of each of the PIR's and some of the recruits and what they are doing.  See you there!

Sounds like yesterday was a great day for most of us!  For those who didn't get the call yet, have faith!  Could be they were standing watch or something else!

Ahhh, but it is our TG.  THIS PIR group.  That's close enough that if it can't be our division, we can live vicariously through the other ladies here who will get to gaze on their SRs SOON!  Congratulations division 79!

I think I have decided I am printing out everything on that site so I can have it at my fingertips.   This way I can highlight and mark interesting things and with this.   HAHA just joking,   I will just do the best I can I guess.  I am very happy someone with or PIR group got it though very happy for them.

Did you guys want to pick out a color for scarf that will help you find each other at PIR and the meet and greets? Its not mandatory, I was just wondering.  If you choose, will you please post it on the main page. Thanks!
