Anyone else have a loved one that entered Boot Camp on January 24th, 2012? My daughter did..... Miss her so much, but VERY PROUD!

My daughter left last tuesday the 24th.... this site has been such a fantastic support system.  There isn't anyone out there that understand what your feeling.... not knowing what your SR is doing..... UGH.  But, I am so proud of her decision and know that she will get through it with her strength!  ME??? Not sure sure :)

Hi Robin,

My daughter arrived at Great Lakes on Tuesday the 24th and you are so right about this site, I am on it all day just about plus so many other sites. My daughter is 25 so she is a little older, I think than most recruits but it doean't mean I miss her any less. I recieved her "box" on Friday the 27th and in her pocket of her jeans, secretly tucked away, there was a letter to me that she wrote on her flight from Dallas. I read it everyday....lol. I have been writing letters and cards and cannot wait to get her address!!! You will be fine......they say the first 2-3 weeks are the hardest b/c of no communication and I know exactly what you are going through....

Take Care, Micki

My daughter is 20... not too much younger!   So happy your daughter did that for you..... how wonderful!  Hopefully we'll hear something next week....... :)    Let me know if you do!?!     I will keep you posted if I receive anything as well!!!!

Looking forward to  her address as well... her brothers have been making pictures.  One with glitter, not sure I'll send that one.. LOL, it will surely make a big mess!  :)

My Son left on the 24th also. I can't wait just to receive his box back. So proud of him and can't wait to see him at graduation!

I am looking forward to getting her stuff as well.........and her address!   Guess I'll see you PIR Grad!

So glad to see that I'm not alone in my feelings i miss my SR so....much just because i can't call him whenever i want. It was so much different when he want to college for a year at least i could talk to him so didn't miss him quite so much. I'm hoping their PIR is on 3/30/12 my SR's 20th birthday!

Hi Dawny, How great that would be if he got to graduate onhis birthday :). I'm pretty sure it will be the 30th as there is no graduations on the 23rd.... Micki

I'm pretty sure as well.... I don't think they'll go another week... or graduate that early!  WE've actually made our room reservations for that weekend..... nothing like jumping the gun alittle... :)

My Birthday is the 29th!!!!  Would be a GREAT birthday gift!   Have you received any letters yet??  I'm still waiting... i have a few letters I want to mail out!  The waiting... and not knowing is soooo hard!

My son left on January 24th as well.  I am so proud of him, but can't wait  for boot camp to be over so we can communicate more.  His box arrived last Friday and  I got the form letter in the mail today that said graduation is March 16.  I was pleasantly surprised.  Donna

Anyone who's loved one left last tuesday the 24th get their letter???  I'm reading that some have... I haven't?  Box went to another address, a friend she was staying with, last friday.  I hope that my letter doesn't go there..... will they use her last address she was at, or does she have the ability to put ours down where she wanted it form letter to go home to?  I am panicking!

Robin, your daughter will fill in parts of the form letter (including the address you may mail her letters) and she must address the letter herself.  She has a few minutes to write a brief note to you on the back of the form letter.  I received my son's box and the letter (box from fed ex, letter uspo) yesterday, but two friends in my small city did not receive either yet.  Maybe your letter will come today.

whew.... okay!  I feel better about that!  I was thinking they'd send it to the other address.    Okay, didn't get it today, maybe tomorrow....... I'll have to continue my stalking of the mail carrier!  :)    I can't wait to get it, I know no news is good news....... and I am certain she is doing fine. Just miss her so much!   Thank you Sara!!!!!!
