Is there anyone with a SR Ship 2 Div 919? If yes, please comment on the status of your SR and your experience here. My son is there. We are from Texas. I've already made our reservations at the Residence Inn. I've been doing a lot of reading online and found that this place has nice 2 bedroom 2 bath suites with full kitchen. I also spoke with a lady online that verified there is a wonderful free full hot breakfast and that he graduation is only 4 miles or so away from the hotel. The online site state the suite will accommodate 6 comfortably. I haven't gotten tickets yet as I'm watching the rates. I've seen prices fall as low as 200 RT. However the deadline for use was prior to my departure date. Chime in if you are going and will be staying at the same hotel. Maybe we can have a meet and greet night at the hotel or something. Can anyone tell I'm extremely excited about PIR and getting to see my SR turn Sailor. Yeah!

Hi McGowdie - I'm from Huntsville - I think a few miles down the road from you - if you find any good flights out of houston let me know - right now they are pretty high, and a refundable ticket is over double of that. I sent you a friend request on here so we can e-mail.
Hi! And welcome to our ship. :-)
I'm currently looking for tickets too. I've joined a few groups that watch airfare. I'll let you know if I find something. Right now the prices are fluctuating around $300-$600. I'm taking a group of 5 and that is way more than what I'd like to pay. I'm saying a prayer and expecting God's Best for our situation.
My Boyfriend is in Ship 02 Div 919. We are from Texas :) good to meet you! We (his mother, my mother, & I) have only received his form letter...have you gotten any letters yet? Go Division 919!
Hi... Welcome aboard! What part of Texas are you from?
I've only received a form letter too. However, my son did manage to scribble 3 or 4 sentences/fragments on the back of the form letter. The writing looked hurried. He didn't get to call home to tell us he made it safely. So, one of his statements was "I arrived safely." LOL . He did say that he may be able to phone in approximately 3 weeks. I'm not sure if he means three weeks from the date of arrival or three weeks from the time he sent the form letter. My husband was in the Navy. He keeps telling me that he's pretty busy over there. He also told me if he calls be prepared to listen and write as he will only have a very brief period to talk. With that said.... he recommended that I don't start hitting him up with a barrage of questions. Oh well, I suppose I'll listen and write often. Maybe you'll get a phone call in 3 weeks too. :-)
We are from a small town near Austin. A few sentances/fragments was all his mother got on the back of his letter too. Tell your husband I said thanks for the recommendation b/c I was about to send a boat load of questions in my next letter but thinking better of it now. LOL. It's just hard not knowing! His letter said the same thing about a phone call in 3 weeks so we are hoping to hear from him next week. What part of TX are y'all from?
I'm from Houston, TX. I'm glad I could ease a little tension. You know, as I think about it, I really believe just hearing his voice will be more than enough for me. I really don't want to add any more stress to his current situation by requiring him to answer a "ship load of questions" LOL. Anyway, I searched online and found a questionnaire that allowed me to ask questions and get answers without having him to take out time to write. This way he could use his time wisely and focus on things that are more important than satisfying my need to KNOW! :-)) I even included a self-addressed stamped envelope to reassure myself that I'd get the letter back. LOL Can you tell I've never been away him very long... it at all ... now that I'm thinkg about it. :-) Try it. It may work for you too.
I have a major concern, I received the form letter, but did not get a parking pass password? what do I do ? We are renting a car....HELP?
Call the RTC public affairs at 847-688-2405 and they will help you with password. If you need anymore help just let me know.
Thak you will do that tomorrow.
PAO will probably refer you back to your Sailor. It is confidential and PIR specific. Write him and ask him for it. ;-)
Hey everyone...I got a letter today from my daughter but all she said is that she was picked for the 900 division. I know there are two however she is the one with the flags. Does anyone know if their SR is doing flags? If so they are probably in the same division....

I know if they are getting their mail O my goodness she is loaded. Because she is getting lots lol not only am I writing her but so are her brothers and grandparents so I know one thing mama better get one first lol.
