Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

We are going to drive up thursday night and stay at the Navy Lodge and the get up real early for graduation. Initially it was only going to be parents and myself and my daughter and now the whole family is going! So my twins will be there, which Garret is thrilled about,

and if somebody know what weather is gone to be in chicago in march , because i'm in Puerto Rico right now and i dont
know if is go to be cold . and which would be the best clothing for use in the PIR?

Good Morning. The black is just a color that we chose to wear in the form of a scarf to graduation. The scarf color will represent our division. The weather in Chicago area in March is going to be cold. Dress warm and in layers. Wear comortable shoes, because you will be doing a lot of walking. I would suggest that the week before you plan to fly out, that you check what the weather forcast will be for Great Lakes, Ilinois, so you can plan accordingly. From what I have read out here so far, you can dress up for graduation, or you can dress casual. It is your choice. Have a great week!

Added you as a friend. Where did Garret go to college? Sarah did not go to college. I hope that she may after her time in the Navy, but really it would not bother me at all if she decided to stay in and retire from there. That would be so good

Garret went for a semester at a local community college and discovered it was not for him. He was signed up to go to a technical school for computer networking and security but dropped out of that as well during a very difficult summer following high school graduation, in which he and I were at odds over how he was spending his very large sum of graduation money. He moved out, moved in with a girlfriend and then realized that was also a mistake and came home. Now we are at where we are now. Garret has come a long way in the past 2 years but has a long way to go to realize his full potential, which I know in my heart he will.
As for me, I have been very ill since he left. I am sure some of stress but for sure my body is under the weather. I am on a third round of antibiotics for what seems to be tonsilitis (never even had that as a kid) and continued sinus/ear infection that never went away. My heart has been skipping beats, I have been severely fatigued and have dropped 12 lbs in the last week or so. Right now I am just trying to focus on getting myself healthy so I can attend graduation. Right now I don't know how I could manage 3 days in a hotel and being busy. I just do not have the endurance for it. :(

I know all about sinus infections. What antibiotic are you taking? The only one that works for me is Ceftin. I went to an ENT. I have a crooked nose, and a deviated septum, but not bad enough to have surgery, which I dont want. Sounds to me like the tonsils need to go.. My neighbor, who is almost 50, just had her tonsils removed last Friday.

Doc put me on Omnicef. I've never taken it before but am responding really well to it so far. Initially a couple months ago I was given Bactrim and had every side effect in the book and then some. It was awful. I sure I hope I don't have to have my tonsils out!

Having your tonsils out might be a good thing. My neighbor kept getting sick over and over again, and when she went to the ENT, he said it was time to take them out. She is one week into it and still cannot eat much. Only time will tell. I am sorry that you were having such a rough time. The stress will get you, I know.

If you haven't checked out the new encouragement questionnaire in the discussions be sure and check it out. It is funny and has a great paragraph of encouragement for battle stations. This is the one I made for my daughter, you may have to tweak it a little since my Sailor is a girl. I hope you all like it :-)
