Hi Ladies!

I'm late in joining the group, but I just spoke with my SR and he told me to get in the loop!

My name is: Julie

My SR is: Kyrk

We are from: Roscoe, IL

He tells me the ladies are wearing purple, but I'm seeing purple scarves.  Since I'm so late in the game, I will try to make my own and hopefully still blend in.  I doubt it will look as good as LaLa's though.  Anything else I need to know to get brought up to speed?  I can't wait for Friday!

 son's name is Kyrk.

Hi Julie,

Some of the families have ordered purple scarves from LaLa (look back on the thread o page 19 , there is a picture of it). Others are making their own and some are just going to wear purple, whatever you have will be fine. I saw some purple scarves at Walmart for $5 the other day. I ordered material and should get it tmo so I plan on making my own for my family.

Where is you SR going for A school? What is is 'job' going to be?

Welcome to the group Julie. Better late then never :) Like Carrie said, just wear something purple, you will blend in. And if you could make it to Sarge's meet and greet, that would be awesome. Quite a few of us are going to be there. I am looking forward to meeting you.

CarrieB,

Thanks for the info.  I will probably make scarves for my family as well.  My son is going to South Carolina for A School.  He's in the nuke field as an ET.  Does that answer the job questions?? (As you can tell, I'm still a little clueless!)

Hi Julie,

Sorry, what is an ET? maybe they will be in the same dorm. Joe is going to be a Nuke Machinist.

I believe it stands for Electronics Technician.

Hi Malia,

I've seen mention of the Sarge's Meet & Greet, but not too many other details yet.  I haven't had time to read through all the posts yet and to be honest there are so may groups and info here that I'm a little overwhelmed.  Can you point me in the right direction to find the info? Thanks!

Julie, here is the link Sarge's Meet and Greet . It's on Thursday from 5PM to 10PM. Hope to see you there! :)

Ramada also has Ramada Meet and Greet . I am going to Sarge though. Totally understand that you are a little lost in here. I was overwhelm with all the activities that going on here and the wealth of information you can get and learn from here. Most amazingly is the support you receive from here. It has been a truth blessing for me, especially in the last few days when I was anxiously waiting for my son's "I am a sailor" phone call.

Miss all of you, reading through all this brings tears to my eyes! :)

Darcie, so good hearing from you. How are you guys? How is Thomas? Hope things are working out for you guys. Miss seeing you on here chatter along with us.
