For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

moving to great lakes
So my sailor and I will be getting married on march 10th in great lakes then were gonna move me out there hopefully the end of march .... hes on hold for A school and could be up there a year thats why im moving so my question is whats the best way to move all my stuff i will be driving my car up but i have a whole room to move will we have to hire movers or will the navy help hire ones ...im just getting a little overwhelmed with getting movers and finding a new job up there im a preschool teacher so im very attached to my kids i have now and im sad to leave them... im just looking for any advice thanks so much

The Navy will not pay for your move because you were not married before he reported to A school. You are not "on the orders".
He has to put in his Live Ashore packet and get it approved, he can't just move off base because he married. He must ask permission.

he has not reorted to A school yet hes on hold and he already has permission to live ashore they let him do it ealry because they know our situation and they how long he is going to be up there so we will be married before he starts A school and i will be on his orders

I meant you would not be on his A school orders... he may be on hold, but he's already there and checked in as a single sailor. No paid move to Great Lakes for you. You'll be on his NEXT set of orders, after A school. They NEVER add dependents after the fact. They will let him live ashore, but whoever is telling him your move is paid for is mistaken.
I was an ET1, it isn't like I don't know this stuff.
