Welcome StandingStrong.  I keep trying to get my SR's girlfriend to join us but she's pretty busy.

Welcome StandingStrong...it is great to have a Navy girlfriend!  I have been trying to get my SR's girlfriend on here but she is insanely busy as she is in college so we just text every day.  We will be traveling together to PIR.  I agree with Melissa, I am doing a lot better now that I know in 3 weeks we will be with our Sailors!

Good morning ladies!  We are trying to finalize plans and reservations.  I've narrowed the hotel down to the Residence Inn Waukegan or the Marriott.  Do you guys have any opinions on these and is anyone staying here?  Thanks! Got a letter yesterday as well!

Good morning,   I am not sure about either of the hotels,   I think some of us are staying at the Ramada Inn in Waukegan and I think a some are staying at the Marriott as well.   The Ramada sold me due to the shuttle to and from the graduation.   .   The Ramada runs a special of $79 per night for graduation.   Hope I helped some.   I am from FL and have never been to Chicago so this is all new to me.

Hi reqmcole!  I just posted that we will be at the Marriott on Friday through Sunday night (leaving Monday late afternoon).  I have never been to Chicago but people I talked with liked the Marriott and we got something called a "military rate".

Hi all, we are staying at the Comfort Inn, is anyone else?  Its in Waukegan also and is $79.00 per night if you book Saturday, if its just Thursday and Friday then its $89.00 per night.  I haven't seen anyone else book the Comfort Inn so I am worried that there might be something wrong with this place??  Any thoughts?

We are staying at the Ramada also.  I booked mine yesterday and got our rooms for $72 a night.  I wanted the indoor pool, my SR loves to hang in a pool, and we also picked it so we didn't have to travel to the meet and greet.

How did you get it for $72? darn it I never get to save any money.  LOL

I went to their website yesterday and it said Navy Graduation Special.  Dunno...luck?  Maybe they felt bad that I had to book two rooms?

I  really have no advice to share other than keep your head up and stay strong.   we are all in the same boat just waiting for the days to go by as fast as possible.   Anytime you just want to post your feelings on here we are all here to support each other.   Some of the mom's, girlfriends etc. are both on here and the FB page and there are some mom's that are just on FB or just on here.    These ladies are wonderful and they have been very supportive and I hope I am as supportive to them when they are feeling blue and missing their SR's as well.

I agree with everything you said, Melissa.  Don't know what I would do without you all. Today was kinda hard because I didn't get a letter.  He wrote a short one to his GF and a couple of pages to his father (first one he has written to his father).  Both of them shared them with me.  I was just missing him a lot today.

Thanks for the feedback on the hotels guys.  We like to spread out so we went with a 2BR/2 BA suite at the Residence Inn that even has a living area. It's probably going to be 5 of us attending PIR. So now the next question is, which meet and greet...Ramada or Sarge's?
