Anyone else have a loved one in Ship 9 Division 091?  My son left 01/17/2012.  He will be going to Pensacola for his A school.

Thank you for the ideas!

My daughters name is Brittany. So apparently there are at least 3 girls in her division. That makes me feel a little better. I know my daughter is very strong and will be ok.

My daughter is Kaitlin.  I hope they are all getting to the point of forming a tight-knit division.

Hello, Your Brittany and My Molly are friends!  sounds like things are coming together!

hey hey, received first letter/letters today! Be prepared for what you are going to hear. I am proud of our Section Leader!!

Eighty girls on their ship. I afraid to say to much as I dont want the officers to read what I say and hold it against her. So I will wait and see what everybody else writes!

I received my letter yesterday as well. She made it sound like they are not all on the same page. There are a few that are holding up the rest. Lets hope they unite and help each other as I am sure the leader is trying to get them to do. I am still not sure what we are allowed to send them other than letters, stamps and pictures.

As If I remember correctly you have a son there?  Boys are different than girls.

My started off kinda bad I thought.  They have had toilet paper taken away twice. Doesnt sound like they are uniting like they should. But what do I know. Im just a lunch room lady.

Didn't get a letter today but my parents did.  I am really happy their post office is better than mine.  My dad is the 2nd generation of the 4 generations of Navy (K is the 4th).  I think it made my dad feel really good to hear from her before I did.

Congratulations on your Section Leader, yelomoon!

Hope your dad had good news.  I bet he was proud receiving his letter.  My dad was in the coast guard WWII and one of my daughters uncles is a navy retiree.  My post office is slow too as there are in the process of slowing closing them. Just when I need them the most. lol  .

We recieved a letter yesterday, She sounds like she is enjoying it. There was nothing negitive in my letter. She passed inital PT assesment and Swim quals. I know they had a Personnel Inspection coming up on Tuesday. So hopefully they did well. She has been getting mail since they had the first mail call. She also gave me the names of four SR that are not recieving any mail.  I cant beleive that people wouldnt write their kids, well anyway, I wrote all four of them and now have some teachers ans scout leaders that are going to send these girls some letters.

I didnt know you could call the recruit officer and get an address. I didnt start writing till I received the form letter. I too am writing someone extra who has not received any mail. So my SR didnt receive anything on first mail call. But my post office is rural and slow. :(  They are trying to close it down.  My SR wrote in story so I could see the progress she has made. On the first letter I was crying by the time I got to the fifth I was busting with pride. She is hanging in there as she is one of the youngest there.  If you want to share their names I will write to them.

We got letters!!! He sounds great.  He said he is doing good and their division is getting better at working together.  He filled out the whole questionnaire I sent him.  He's made a lot of new friends and just seemed so happy with his decision to join the Navy.  He's passed all of his physical fitness and swim tests, which I figured he would since he was a lifeguard the last two years.  I hope all of you get letters like mine.  It sounds like this was the first time they have been allowed to write.  The letters were all postmarked Monday, so it takes a little while for snail mail to reach Texas from Chicago.
