Anyone's recruit on this ship and Division?

@ Drama  I believe my SR is the newbie.  He had trouble with part of the swim test and joined 075 a week ago.  I'm praying he's fitting in!

I am sure he is.  It sort of makes sense that divisions are fluid.  The idea is they are all learning to work together.  It is one of the most important life skills, I think.

As much as we are all looking forward to PIR, do you ever get the feeling it will be a little weird after it's over.  I mean, keeping up with this website, the facebook RTC and forums pages, learning from other sources, waiting for mail, writing letters. . . it's all become the new "normal" and takes a big chunk of my day.  I think I might actually miss all this when I have a Sailor instead of a recruit.

So is there a "Post-PIR" site for moms/wives/girlfriends to keep in touch?  I agree...I have learned so much in the last 5 weeks and I think I will miss it as well.  And the act of actually writing a letter is amazing.  I used to write letters all the time and then this thing called 'email' happened.  I think I am going to keep this letter-writing thing going.  I guess we will move into a new phase in this Navy family.

I dont know.  I would really like to stay in touch with everyone.   maybe we should make a FB page for just this group so we can all keep in touch with each other.   Just because our boys will not be together anymore after Boot Camp doesn't mean we can not all keep in touch from time to time.   We can still support each other.

Melissa, that is a GREAT idea!  I know my SR's recruiter said that no matter where he went, there were friendships forged in BC that never left him, even if he didn't get to be with them again.

JC's mom my son is going to be a machinist mate on a sub where is your son going for A school.  I think mine is going to CT but I have not confirmed that with him,  I have asked him several times but he never answers me.   That is the only one that does machinst mate sub school so I assumed.

Me too when he told me he selected to be on a Sub,   his recruiter was even shocked.   But as long as he is happy that is all I care about. He was also very excited.  who knows maybe they will be assigned to the same sub for the first tour,  that would be really neat

Ladies, say where and I am there. You have no idea. Yes on the letter writing. As I mentioned earlier, my spouse collects vintage fountain pens. I have one that I write with all the time and my SR knows it. In fact, my SR's step-dad is going to give him one as a grad gift. It is my SR's favorite. It's a Namiki, sterling silver, with a blue enamel band. It is currently filled with green ink. My SR used it to address his grad annoucements and his thank you notes.

By all means Ladies, we must keep together. We started out on this journey on the same ship. I know I am on the ship for at least the next 5 years. I don't care if your a mom, wife, sister, fiance, don't care. Let's keep on this journey together. I have a feeling, that meeting you Ladies at PIR, will automatically kick it in action. If I can get my 2 cents, just 1 place, either FB or N4M.

It has started to snow. It may be cocktail time!

Great ideas ladies and one place sounds nice!

There are LOTS of groups on this site.  Look under your state.  Or, look under your SR's rating.  Or look at where SR will be going to A school.  Once SR is out of school, there are groups for where SR will be stationed.  Even this group can remain and become an "alumni" group.

I think my boss might like it a little better!!  I spend quite a bit of time checking on you ladies!!! :-)
