Is there anyone with a SR Ship 2 Div 919?  If yes, please comment on the status of your SR and your experience here.  My son is there.  We are from Texas.  I've already made our reservations at the Residence Inn.  I've been doing a lot of reading online and found that this place has nice 2 bedroom 2 bath suites with full kitchen.  I also spoke with a lady online that verified there is a wonderful free full hot breakfast and that he graduation is only 4 miles or so away from the hotel.  The online site state the suite will accommodate 6 comfortably.  I haven't gotten tickets yet as I'm watching the rates.  I've seen prices  fall as low as 200 RT.  However the deadline for use was prior to my departure date.  Chime in if you are going and will be staying at the same hotel.  Maybe we can have a meet and greet night at the hotel or something.  Can anyone tell I'm extremely excited about PIR and getting to see my SR turn Sailor.  Yeah!

I have just heard from my SR! So excited! He sounds great.

Hi.

My son is also in ship 02 div 919. I am looking into booking package for the trip. I just recieved two letters from him and am happy to know he is doing very well. He seems in good spirits and his letters are very funny about the activites they are having to perform. He has come to realize that the officers are not there to make your life hell but they really do want to help him grow and succeed. I'm making him some funny postcards to keep his spirits up and i'll be mailing them out tomorow.

Has anyone heard from their SR in the 919 division still no call.

Brooklyns mom, My son called 2/11/12 @ 7pm. So keep your phone on and by your side at all times because you will get a phone call!!! SMILE  Also, my son said that their letters are mailed out on Sundays and to keep writing because it helps boost the spirits from being homesick. His morning begins approx. 4am and lights out at 10pm so they can't write as often as they would like to.

Hi Hi Yvonne, She did call last night around 7. It was great hearing from her. She was real high spirited and said that she has been sick the whole time there. But she was loving bootcamp. Said that she was the youngest there, that they all treat her as a little sister. I'm really tickled on how she is enjoying herself. She also is loving the challenging of it. Said that she gets to call back in 3 weeks. But I am on cloud 9. She also stated to keep writing which I mail out everyday.

We got a phone call as well.  Sarah sounded upbeat and positive.

No Phone Call - I got a letter two days ago.  She got 3 Wisdom Teeth Out - Yuck!!!

they are saying that 918 got their calls yesterday

just hoping for today.

I have not heard a peep....starting to wonder and worry...no call, no letter yet....I run everytime the phone rings and I feel like the mail lady wants to avoid me since I am at the end of the driveway waiting, or if I am not my daughters are...LOL   miss my son so much...\

Everyone told me no news is good news...   I got one letter so for and that is it.   I'm afraid if she got a phone call yesterday, she called her boyfriend :(.

My son called me Sat 2/11/12 and he was able to speak for 10 minutes because I missed his first phone call and he called his friend. Then he called me back and I got my 10 minutes of conversation. Of course that wasn't long enough. I will have my phone on and by my side like it's an attachment of my body LOL because he said he will call me again!  But he did say that their letters get mailed out on Sundays only and the food is not that great. The food is probably really healthy and low in calories. He is in Ship 02 Div 919. We also made our reservations at the Residence Inn. I really hope our son can stay with us the WHOLE WEEKEND (SMILE). Oh yeah! he made the band and he will be playing in a couple of graduations as well as his own 3/16/12. I am so excited!!!!! I hope to meet other Navy moms in this division especially if you're staying at the Residence Inn.

I too got a call saturday night..it was so wonderful to hear his voice...he sounded mature...he is in the chorus for graduation...and seems to love it.. He loves cheesecake and I asked him...how is the cheesecake, he said, they only get to look at it...not eat any..LOL  Cant wait till March 16, ....See you all soon
