DanielleBell - I bet it is like a room full of 10 year olds!  fun!  At least their voices are deeper?  I'm trying to think of something that would make it better than a room full of 10 year olds!  :  )      Glad he's enjoying himself.  I know he's loving the Marvel game.  Hope he doesn't drive your husband crazy with all the trivia he remembers!  Wish they could make a video game for all that they have to learn in Power School.  He'd ace it for sure!  Bet lots of others would, too.

Have a fun evening?  : )

I don't know about their voices being deeper, they keep squealing like teenage girls when they get super excited!! LOL. But they are definitely having fun. I will probably join them for a bit here in a little while.

Hi ladies. Yes, there sure is a physics test this Thursday. Praying for good understanding and mistake-free test on Thursday. Last week was a rough one for my Sailor, but when I talked with him Sunday night - a real-live phone conversation, not FB or text! - he sounded amazingly well. I'm hoping the extra study hours this week will help.

Missyg - I hope the wisdom teeth extraction goes well! UGH! Interesting that they didn't remove them at Boot Camp. Maybe they'll at least do it on a Friday?
Hoping for a good week for all.

How lousy with the wisdom teeth! What a choice to have to make.  I'm guessing ours have 2 different teachers, but I did hear mine passed.  He got worked really hard this week after last week being such a bad week for him and was thrilled to have passed the physics.  I'm hoping we're on an upswing.  IF I get to communicate with him this weekend, I'll have to ask.

Haven't heard what test/tests they have coming up this week.

Good weekend to all.

Exactly, Missyg! I can't imagine why they didn't do it during T-Track or wait for Grad Hold. I try not to post negative things about what they're reasoning may be, but I hate if for your daughter. Let us know when they remove them so we can be praying extra hard for her!

Good morning everyone!  I haven't been on here since my trip to GC a week ago.  Corey is doing much better emotionally since I last saw him.  He says he is in the middle of the class grades wise & that is just where he likes it.  His motto is:  Only study when you can't pass without studying."  Never has been an over achiever, LOL

Missyg, I am sure that you heard from your daughter that I was not able to deliver a hug.  My son & his friends know who she is but did not know how to reach her.

When I was an hr  from arrival I call my son to give hime plenty of time to be ready.  He told me he & some friends were at the flea market & I should meet them there.  I played taxi for them the rest of the day.  It was fun hanging out with them and getting to know some of the people he's friends with.  I haven't been allowed to do that for years!  Maybe it was the free taxi service (they were all about broke)  Anyway, it was good to see him and to assure myself that he was doing alright.  I probably won't get back there until graduation.

We haven't made reservations or anything yet,  but yes my son is in class 1201 and graduates May 25 :)....We enjoyed the best hotel during A school graduation and our son got our room with his discount  4 stars nice.

Hello everyone... I forgot to hit the follow this button, and forgot about our discussion group! Glad MamaCindy sent me a message!  My Sailor failed the Crossrate test this week and is really upset with himself.  DanielleBell, my son's favorite friend is your hubby. I got to meet him at Midway airport before they flew to GC.  My son loves to play all the games and has a small group of friends. He's the one with the goofy smile (his retainer broke and he never told me or the orthodontist) when I finally realized it, the damage had been done.

Oh, btw, my son's birthday is March 21st and he will be 26 years old! I want to get him a cake... or possibly a party even. Power school is kicking his booty, he just got out of the habit of studying really hard.

We are planning on driving out to graduation!  Did you know that there is a Private Nuke Moms group on Facebook?

Guess where my two high schoolers and myself are going on a field trip this Wed. thru Sat. with their school?  the big town near GC!!  I am soo excited that we will probably be able to share a meal or two with our Nuke!  ...Well ladies,  I had to go through at least last weeks posts because I haven't been on N4M for awhile AND I just found this group.  It was REALLY a blessing and proves the benefit of this site. A couple of weeks ago was the first time I ever heard my son being discouraged,   very down about Power school.  He was pulling the lowest grdes of his "career " so far and was talking about what he planned to do when he didnt graduate!!!  This was someting we haven't heard  (and the grade WERE kind of low)  First of all we decided to be thankful for the grades he received and trust God that he would be talking to the correct instructors and find improving grades.  They did improve a little last week .   One  test was even a 3.7 .  At the time he was down he said he was not socializing any either.  Well, just as a couple of you stated he likes to get together for board games etc. at friends houses..And we reminded him of that.  AND that's just what he's been up to.  Some other positive experiences have happened, including me finding y'all.  Isn't God good.  I am soo impressed with all our sailor has become and is doing in this program.........Hey..While we are out to eat I always like to include anyone else who would like to tag along...Maybe I'll meet a couple of your sailors as well.  I AM so psyched :) :) One of our tours of course will be at p's point, which I've been to a couple of times.   I am from NC so it's not that far.   Thanks for letting me share this "praise report".   You know May 25 will be here before we know it :)

HonorHim, I KNOW you're excited to get to spend time with 3 children on this special trip!  Hope you have a great time.  I'm hoping to make another trip to GC soon since we're so close.  I keep reading these posts from moms whose Sailors have gone to NY and I'm thinking I'll regret this time he was only 4 hours away if I don't make another trip soon.    Wow!  a 3.7!  Fantastic grade.  Hope this week continues to be good for your Sailor.

Enjoy the field trip!

If any of you are on Facebook, we have a Nuke Moms - Private group/page. It has mainly Moms from GC, some from BS and a few from the fleet. If you want to be added, please send me a message. I know a few of you are already on there <3!

My son... gosh, I miss him today. His Skype is turned off, so he is either studying (most likely), or asleep (what he would prefer to be doing)...

Yes, I did hear from him. He passed his test, did not make the grade he hoped for, but was glad to have passed!  He was tired and was going to bed. Also, his phone has been turned off during the day and he was staying away from his computer as well, because he knew he needed to study extra for this test.
