Hello all fellow shipmothers, girlfriends, best friends, aunties, grammas, sisters, etc...
Just wondering who is in the same ship and division as my son. I live in Wisconsin and will be staying at the Navy Lodge for the PIR ceremony.
My son will be going to Groton after PIR. I haven't gotten a phone call from him yet but am excited to hear from him.
YOU?

Pink scarves! It's up to you to participate, it's not mandatory..it will just help us recognize each other! Your son will be doing the flag thing with my son and stevensmom. How exciting!
Ouch on the wisdom teeth! I was very excited to hear from my son for sure, but it was really hard because he was so emotional...I just wanted to hug him.
Just getting familiar with the website and found the group I was looking for! My son is ship09div076. I received my first call from him yesterday(almost missed it!). It was great to hear his voice! My son will be going to San Antonio for A school. We'll be staying at the Navy Lodge for PIR.
I'll be at the Navy Lodge too! Welcome! Feel free to send us any questions you have! Most of us received our first calls yesterday too...it was hard to remain composed for me!
also, are you on facebook?
Yes. My son got me on it before he left, so that I could keep family and friends up to date on how he's doing. How do you find people on Facebook when you can't put names and identifiers on this sight. My house is now empty of kids, so no one to ask for help. Any advise is welcome!
sent you a personal message.
Ladies...its aweful quiet in here...
My son is on Ship 09/ Div 076 PIR date 3/2/2012. He will be staying in GL for A school. I too need to make my plane/ car and hotel reservations, but I am hestitant as I have been told this date could potentially change. I have gotten a letter and a wonderful call a few days ago. Just hoping and praying for the best.
One question, has there been a designated color for mom's from this group's at PIR.
pink!!! just wear a pink scarf to the meet and greets and the pir! The date could change but I doubt it will. When I spoke to my son the other day, he told me their division is the senior division and they are the farthest along in the training. today is week 3 day 2 which puts them right on schedule for pir. Something would have to happen individually for a SR to not graduate on time. I would just make sure with the flight that you have a no change fee...Southwest? The car and hotel you should be able to cancel without taking a hit.
being the senior division and being the furthest along in their PIR group also means they will likely be in the first group to go through battlestations ;-)
yeah I think it is, It means they finish first and have a few days to relax a little before PIR, not that they don't keep training and practicing and all that :-)
