Quick question, does anyone have an SR that's going to A school in Connecticut?
okay ladies add my name to the group.. got my call today. and the first thing he said is how come no one is at home. I was at work and I am a nurse in Icu but they all helped out and I was able to talk to him for almost an hour. we also lost each other because his phone card ended and then he called me back in about 10 minutes. he says the girls and boys have different chiefs and their both okay. food is okay just wished they served something different,
he sounded so good. he passed the swimming got a root canal and then also said did I not know soda was bad for you......
so almost done says guns are next.....
Add me to the list. I got a call from my son, too. He sounded really good. I tried to think of as many questions as I could since we had so much time to talk. Then I got home and I got a letter he wrote on Sunday, so that mail was pretty quick.
If you haven't checked out the new encouragement questionnaire in the discussions be sure and check it out. It is funny and has a great paragraph of encouragement for battle stations. This is the one I made for my daughter, you may have to tweak it a little since my Sailor is a girl. I hope you all like it :-)
My understanding is if you are meeting your Sailor at the airport you can but not to take back to base in Il.
You can bring the phone and they can use it on Liberty, but they are not allowed to keep it on the base. Your sailor will now if he or she can take the phone and computer with them after the PIR to the A school. I'm going to bring everything with me on 03/02/12 and have it avaiable for her.
Hello everyone! Hope all is well and happy. I just have one question and if anyone knows, please, please, please reply! I know my SR is going to school in Ct so that means he's going to Groton. Does anyone know when he will leave out? Will it be that Saturday or Sunday? I'm getting a headache over this and feel a fresh set of tears coming on! Lol!!
My SR said he won't know his flight time until close to PIR. We are just hoping it is late Saturday. He is going to Charleston, SC. We have been gettting regular letters which is nice. I am just waiting for his next letter letting me know what Nuke job he got and if he passed his PFA. Hopefully, it will come tomorrow.
Good Morning Everyone - I got a letter this morning. My son passed the PFA. I am so proud of him. We were actually built to run, so I was so scared that this would be the thing to hold him back. I am so glad the letters are coming on a regular basis now. I wonder what day we have to stop mailing them to GL. What happens if a letter arrives at GL after PIR, will the forward it to him?
Good morning to all, Happy Hearts Day, and to all of our SR's working so hard. I can't wait to get a letter to update me on all the progress... 16 days to go.. Im so anxious and excited!!!! Just a reminded thats it Trivia Tuesday!!! Good Luck 07/078. Have a great day. Hope everyone is doing well..
We have received several letters from our SR. In almost all of them he mentions how great his fellow shipmates are! He was nominated by 078's RDCs to go before a review board that selects the Honor Graduates for the whole ship. They selected 6 SR out of the 20 that were nominated. He didn't get selected as one of the 6, but he praised his fellow shipmates for encouraging him and cheering him up when he wasn't selected. Thanks, parents for raising terrific kids!
I love getting regular letters now. He really misses us but is doing fine. He can't wait for the special meals we have planned for him. He loves this crockpot recipe called meatball casserole so I am making it on Thursday and bringing it to the hotel. He also loves sushi so we are picking him up a small tray of that. He is going to be stuffed when he gets back to base that night. He got a ribbon for marksmanship. Very cool, he gets to wear it on his uniform at PIR. I can't believe it is just over 2 weeks to we see him. I hope everyone gets letters this week!
