OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

In need of financial help
My husband went to RTC on Feb 1st. His recruiter had told us that he would be paid on the 15th. They said that his first two checks would be half because of cost of uniforms. Now I'm being told that he won't be paid for another 4 weeks minimum and that he will only recieve $200.. Can anyone tell me what actually happens? I just moved in with his parents to help take care of my handicap father in law so I have no job, and he is our only source of income. Now it seems I wont be able to pay my bills.. I have no clue whats going on, what to expect, or how much to expect.

My husband graduated about a month ago. I've heard that everyone has different experiences but I can tell you mine. He got.paid about four weeks after he left. But it was a larger sum bc he was paid for two periods. Also just to let you know, some places, like power, water, cell phones, will put bills on a military hold while he is in boot camp.. at least that's the case in my area. I hope this helps. Hey nightingale, my hubby graduated not too long ago so this is still fresh on my mind. He left on the 10 of Nov n received his 1st check 21 days later (Dec1). We received all the BAH + his pay. On the next check (Dec15) they deducted his uniforms and other stuff. I can't tell you how much your husband will get paid because that depends where his "home address" is and if he went in as an E1,2 or 3??? I hope this helps. the BAH came in with the first check? That would be so nice, I've never had issues paying my bills so I'm losing my mind! He went in as an E2, I'm so unfamiliar with military life that I'm not sure if that is a good or a bad thing. I know hes in the "drill division" in RTC, but I'm not sure if that effects his pay...

Ok I was wrong about receiving All BAH on the first check. It was actually half of the base pay+ half BAH. If your hubby is an E2 half of his base pay would be around $700 plus 1/2BAH. You can Google BAH rates by zipcode. N figure it out that way. Where is he from? Or where did he sign up?
The drill team @ RTC doesn't give him anything extra. -

We are from Rochester I'm just nervous because I have a whole bunch of bills due on the 25th and now its looking like I wont be able to pay them..

Ok if its Rochester, NY the BAH without dependants is $879. My husband says if he wasn't on hold too long @ RTC, he might get paid on the 15. Sometimes if they don't have enough recruits to form a division, they are on hold for a while. I know its frustrating when you're tryin to stay on track w your bills. I would start calling them now and telling them he's active duty and that he's in Bootcamp.

My fiance left January, 5 and I don't know anything about BAH because we're not married. However, I can tell you he didnt get paid until February 1. I work for minimum wage and it was really hard paying all our bills for a month. But, like someone said before a lot of places will take into consideration that he's military, and help you.

I can agree w/the last person that posted. My fiance left jan 5th and I have his debit card and he didnt have anything deposited til Feb 7th I believe and it was LESS than 200.00. But my fiance signed up for Navy Federal bank b/c all his statements came to me and one said that he signed up to have 460.00 deposited into his account for me starting March 1 twice a month. Still yesterday was the 15th and I still dont have anything:( Yet at least. Very annoying! Just have patience trust I know it's hard.

BAH can take as long as eight weeks to kick in. Annoying for you, but when it does roll in, it will come as a lump sum with backpay to the day he left.

Recommend you call the places you have bills with and let them know what is going on, if you wait until the last minute odds are they will not help you out. It can take anywhere from 4-6 weeks for the first paycheck to go into his account...than it will depend where he has the money depostied if you can get to the money or not.

I called, and they are refusing to help me out. most of them are our school loans, and because of the private loan company we went through we have no deferrment options. :( Thankgoodness for my in-laws ...
