Hey all! Got a letter today and sounds like all is well. Spoke about more inspections and tests coming up and only 10 more training days!  Says gas chamber should be epic. Wow. Said should have a phone call coming Tues (didn't happen) or Wed (today).  I pray it's a good call and not related to the "prone float"! Ugggghhh! Nervous Nellie, I truly believe no news is good news!

What is prone float

Unfortunately, it's the part of the swim test my SR has had trouble with. You have to be on your stomach, head down and tread water to float for 5 minutes. I think you move your arms back and forth and kinda do an eggbeater thing with your legs.

Got mail said maybe calling Tuesday or Wednesday ....I'm waiting

Im still waiting on phone call too! Glad to hear someone else mention it.  I was thinking it may be a "swim" related call.

better not be...  or some SR's are gonna get a beat down by their momma's....lol

I got 2 letters today! They had finished with Marlinspike, he thinks he classified expert with a Beretta, was 37 seconds over on his running because he was sick, and is on the laundry crew. He sounded better. Can't believe there is only a couple weeks left and they are gearing up for BS-21.

"We are getting BEAT, but the RDC's don't like us telling you. They want us to say motivated. BEAT means Better Education And Training."

"Once everyother day, we get 'motivated' PT which is pretty killer."

He said he got us division shirts! Sent to his grandmother a packet filled with all his Navy Credit Union stuff. Then he said he was a lazy, rebellious teenager, sorry for anything he did, and said he loved me. I started crying.

Did not say anything about calls. I am guessing that the next call we get will be after BS-21. Now I'm going to check FB and she what is happening there. 2 weeks ladies and we will see our new Navy Sailors! Woo Hoo!!!

yea, mine mentioned getting IT'd.and PT'd  alot..  omg im crying too..   he "beasted" the run  did it in 12:02 .. and "half assed" pushups/situps and still beasted.. said was savin energy for the run. but said is starting to get sick again.. ugh.. OMG can't wait... 2 more weeks and we will be heading up to Great Lakes.. still no call, so probably won't happen til after BS21 ....  woohoo

Mine has passed everything but the running. As mentioned earler in a post, the boy/man has always had a problem running. I just hope he can pass that! I knew he would do well in the shooting. My parents/his grandparents had a gun biz. I grew up with guns and was a competetive small/big bore shooter. If he didn't pass the shooting, his grandfather in heaven would swoop down and give him a good thump!

Swimming, again no problem. He was in swim lessons before he could crawl. He also mentioned the food, says it sucks, even the French Toast. "I can make it better." He also mentioned he was looking forward to the "confidence" chamber, aka Gas Chamber.

I'm glad I am on this and FB forum. He never mentioned the flags won or anything else. Thanks everyone for filling in the blanks for me.

As to the food...no wonder mine is eating only fresh fruits and veggies with some kind of protein. He said he gave up all the white carbs.  Could be because things like French Toast sucks. Guess they can't ruin apples and salad.

And Peanut Butter! I know mine loves salad. However, I also know a salad is not iceberg lettuce. My SR knows that too. So I hope he has many green leafy veggies.

LOL! I remember when I was a kid, "salad" was a wedge of iceberg with 1000 Island dressing.  Makes me sick to think about it. Apparently there is a salad bar in the mess hall,,,not sure what it contains though.
